what was your first tractor?

I grew up on a small farm and at the age of 8 or 9 started on an Allis WD45. Moved up to the "big" tractor IH Super M after a year or two. I have only bought one tractor (not counting garden tractors) and that is the Kubota
MX5000.

I started on an Allis Chalmers C when I was around 12 years old. I operated various farm tractors through my high school years, and spent a lot of hours on a JD 1010 while working in a game preserve after the Army. The first tractor I bought was a Kubota BX22, and I now have a Kubota B2620........ I guess I'm back to nearly the same size I started with.

The first one I ran was a JD M my grandad bought new to replace the team of horses back in 1950. My dad still uses that one on occassion. The first one I bought myself was a 1951 Ford 8n which I still have and use when 4wd is not a big advantage. The first one I bought new was a 2006 JD 4120 which introduced me to 4wd.

My granddad never had a tractor. He used a team into the mid 50s and I spent some time behind them but I was too small to really drive them. I think the first tractor I actually drove was either an IH TD6 with disc or a small JD dozer my uncle had when I was 8 or 9. I´ve run about all ag equip through high school and college along with d7s in the army but never was interested in farming as a life so never owned any equipment. I´ve ended up with a few acres, so I broke down and got a bx a couple years ago to keep the place up. Is does bring back some old memories running the thing.

Our first tractor was a Kubota L245DT around the turn of the century. It came with a landscape rake and we got a 5' bush hog to mow our fields. Without an owner's manual, had to figure out what the different levers and controls did by trial and error. It had a three speed pto, and I always mowed in 2nd untill I got a manual a couple years later and found out that 1st was the 540RPM gear. We wanted a loader, so we upgraded to an L3830 in '04. Wow, what a difference HST, power steering and live pto make!

1973 my first tractor own was Farmall MTA...bought third hand,wish I still had the old girl...sorry no pics.

Cut my teeth on Farmall H trike frontend...glad I was tadepole w/little fear.

First tractor for me was my Dads 8n ford that I helped my uncle rebuild the engine on. Then when Dad died and I was 16 it was stolen while we were in morning. Then my oldest brother bought a MF 35 dieesel and that was a nice little tractor. Then after I got married I bought a IH 424 gas it was a good machine and served me well till IU traded it in on a Kubota L4400 HST. I didnt count my Gravely or Cub Cadet I geuss they are tractors though.

First tractor I bought was an 880 Oliver w/a two row mounted New Idea picker on it. Wish I still had that tractor, she was an animal with very low hours on her. next tractor was a 1650 Oliver, still have this one, but would trade her for a nice ol 880. Next tractor was the 1428V Hydro Massey that I use as a lawn tractor. First tractor I drove was either a WD allis or a WD-45 Allis, not shure which one because we had em both at the same time. 1st tractor to actually work by myself was a Super 88 Oliver diesel. Have also ran JD's, IH's, and fords, but I still perfer to plant my butt on an Oliver, nicest running, easiest to operate tractors. Brought back some nice memroies of Grandpa thinking about this.. thanks.

My first tractor was inherited by me from my Grandfather when I was 38 years old. It is a Massey 1160 w/FEL, forks, bush hog, box grader, and a woodchipper. It is by far the most fun I have in my life to be on that tractor! If I had only known!

Used 1950's Minneapolis Moline 4 Star, used 1966 Allis Chalmers D17 Series IV (wish I still had it) and then a new 1974 Oliver 1655. Many tractors later-2003 Kubota GL3430.

Its the kubota BX24 for my first owned tractor. growing up I used my fathers 1980's massey ferguson lawn tractor that I beat the crap out of doing everything with.

My first tractor was an International 434. Don't know what year it was. Bought it when I moved to a 30+ acre lot and built my home 24 years ago. Used it to plow a big garden and scrape snow out of the driveway for a couple of years. It didn't have a FEL so when I decreased my garden size my 2 wheeled BSC tractor/tiller was plenty for the uses I had so I sold the 434. I didn't ever expect to have another tractor til I bought a BX1800 to mow with. The BX came with a FEL and suddenly I discovered the greater uses for a tractor thus began my real passion for having a tractor. I now have a B2620 that may be with me til I'm pushing up daisies.

1983 Kubota B7100, 4x4, 16 hsp, no loader. Great little workhorse, paid about what it cost when it was brand new, and when I buought it, it was nearly 25 years old. After 2 or 3 years of use, I sold it for nearly what I paid for it.

The first tractor I bought myself was this 1953 Ford NAA with Wagner loader.

My grandfather had many tractors that I drove and operated, Farmall's A and M's, Old John Deer two cylinder (forget the model,) Ford 8N, 9N, and another NAA. Also, my father had an Allis Chalmers HD5 bull dozer which was a lot of fun.

In December 08, I bought my first brand new tractor, a Kubota L4400 with LA703 loader.
