( I agree with you Mike; self-policing is the best solution - but it will not always work, not when the offenders are incapable of perceiving their own offensiveness. An "ignore poster" button or something like it would be a welcome addition. )

I agree as well. I brought this up in the "News / Feedback" section a couple of week ago and was resoundly "punished" for offering an idea of "locking" threads (from additional posting) after a certain period (x months). It's good to see that I wasn't the only one that felt this way.

I've found that if I quote someone and post the response, then go back and edit the post, it comes out in all red and must be fixed by deleting out the extra font tags manually. This may not be obvious to the uninitiated.

There was a thread a few weeks ago that covered the subject, here. In it, I posted a long -- very long -- message about how to use the quote feature. Did I say it was long? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif It was, but it was also comprehensive.
