A COMFORTABLE TRACTOR/MOWER!!!

I live in a small ranchette style neighborhood where i finish mow about 3 acres of what i would call "rough yard". I use a cub cadet with a 54" deck, about 10 yrs old, and i got to say "man is it rough on my fat city body!". Does anyone build a tractor with suspension? The only thing iv'e heard of is a ferris mower, but i would prefer the added utility of a tractor. Thanks for letting me vent.

My New Holland TC25D (D = Deluxe) has a suspension seat that's adjustable for weight. I imagine many tractor manufacturers have deluxe models with similar seats. I know aftermarket suspension seats are available as well.

Seems like a suspension seat upgrade and perhaps a good roller to smooth your lawn is what you really need. Roll it while it's wet and soft in the spring and you'll be surprised at how much smoother it will be.

If your tractor has a tilt up seat, I saw a post on lawn and garden equip. forum (I think) that used a cheap wheel barrow sized tire with tube (minus the rim) inserted under seat to give some spring/cushion. Just adjust air pressure to your liking....air ride seat for tractor on the cheap.

Kioti puts suspension seats on all of there newer models, you don't have to buy a "deluxe" model or pay more for it :D . It took me a while to find the exact settings for my weight and terrain, but it is a very smooth ride. Even over my rough rocky terrain. There are adjustments for seat height, spring preload and rebound, and lateral position. You do loose the ability to flip the seat up though.

My NH 7610s has a spring-ride suspension seat.. nice and comfy thick 4" foam. My ford 5000 has nearly same seat with arm rests too.. I find them to be much easier than riding a rider lawnmower.. or my yerfdog CUV farm vehicle..

Rural King has suspension seats on sale for $69.00. Might be worth a look.

I test drove a Ferris ZTR but even with the suspension set up to ride the softest over rough terrain it was awful at best.

I added a really nice suspension seat base to my CK20, and it helped but was still pretty bad.

The TC33D I just got seems to have the problem tackled with its suspension seat.

It would be difficult to get a suspension seat or base that had enough travel to make a difference and not have you sitting a foot higher than your current seat.:)

As far as riding mowers go, the only thing I know that can help the ride is to roll the lawn. Take out bumps, ride gets better. Sounds like some of these CUTS have some pretty nice seats though.

The seat does fold on Kioti CK25's and CK30's, even with suspension.
