What teams will play in the next Superbowl?

I was actually surprised & relieved they won. If they would have lost, it wouldn’t surprise me a bit.
I don't normally get to see Philly play. We get local Vermont TV in NC and I'm stuck watching the patriots LOL Went out of my way yesterday to watch the game.

Seems like funky play calling on the Eagles side.

You don’t get Carolina Panthers? That’s messed up.

Look at where we are in the season. This is the time of year when coaches create new plays (or hide their “go to” plays) coming into the playoffs.
The eagles may have been trying new variations of plays, to see what does/doesn’t work or throw off future opponents ;)

Even down at the HS level, we had extensive video of “tendencies” of other teams. This is also the time when new wrinkles are experimented with.

Remember the “Philly Special”?

My wife works for a telecommunications company in Vermont for the last 28 years. We get a bunch of good TV stations for free, but the local news and "local" stations are from Vermont. However, I'm stuck watching the Patriots play on Sundays LOL

That said, I've actually got to see more Eagles games this year than I ever had before living here, so no big complaints (we switched the TV streaming the other year to help cut costs of over expensive TV we were paying locally).

Generally, I have no interest in watching the panthers play, and this one time they were playing the Eagles and low and behold, I was stuck watching the Giants game yesterday for the NFC game.

Your line of reasoning makes sense per play calling, although it seems AJ brown wasn't too happy about the play calling on yesterdays game.

Although it doesn't affect me, for some reason I really would love to see Barkley break the rushing record, and really thought given the Panthers rush defense, he could have hit 300 yards for the single game record yesterday.

Well he broke the Eagles all-time record. Still plenty of games left to do it.
I think Hurts is a game manager. He’s an average QB on a very good team.

The eagles will draft a very high QB prospect next year or in ‘26. Yes, I said that.

Not NFL, but still thought this was funny...

On the collage football front; I have zero issue with players getting payed, and I don't really mind the transfer portal; but it needs reworked. Maybe have a "per diem" kinda structure with starters capped at $10,000 per game, going up $5000 per year at that school, and anyone who doesn't get in the game gets 50%? This would create a situation where players can get out of a bad situation team wise, but they have an incentive to stay. So, that freshman thinking about transferring, see ok, I made $5 or $10k per game this year, and if I stay, that will $7.5 or $15k per game if I stay. Bowl games and play off games, maybe you up the per game pay. I Hate the idea of guys sitting out of bowl games, comfrence championships, ect. So, a good player, 1 year on team but not in many games, 3 years active; might get $65k his first year, $195k 2nd, $260 his 3rd, $325k his senior, with the potential to pick up another $65 to $260k between conf champs and bowl games. So, a good player, on a good team (not necessarily a national championship kinda team), might have a collage career earning of around $1m. This theortical player, as a Junior, looking at maybe a 5th round draft pick, can make a decision, a possible around $3-4 m in the NFL. with a very real potential to get cut in pre season, and all that, or stay for a senior season at $325k that is more safe. I think the sport benefits, the players (most really do Need the money) benefit, the fans benefit, and we keep 80% of the loyalty, while allowing players to get out of bad coaching situations.

So, that idea above, you would want, ideally, each conference to set the per diem pay scale across the conference. So, SEC, Big 10, ACC, Big 12, can all have something similar, the small conferences, maybe they pay around $1k per game, but even still, that gives players some walking around money. Most don't come from families that can send them a "allowance", and between class, work outs, practice, and a little bit of life, players can't realistically work part time.

In Gainesville (University of FLa Gators), and probably many schools, the car dealers would often have players on a pay roll job, and not have them work. It was against the rules, and a bit shady, but they got away with it, cause it was hard to prove the player/worker actually did come in to wash cars or whatever

Both my kids played D-1 and received lots of swag and goodies, but it was essentially a 30 hour per week part time job while taking 15 credits per semester. The “money” was in their scholarships, but they paid dearly for them. Both of them suffer nagging injuries, both physical & a psychological.

I dont know how wide spread this is in college athletics, but a co-workers daughter played a little bit of a sport I cant think of the name; you have scope nets, and throw a ball into a soccer goal... anyways, it was only a partial scholarship, that covered Some of tuition, but not housing, meals, ect; and on top of that, have had to have "injury insurance" policy that he/she had to pay for... after 2 years, she transferred to a more local, public university, and dropped athletic sports, cause it was cheaper.

Edit: its called lacrosse...

My son played D-1 lacrosse. My daughter had the choice between D-1 lacrosse or field hockey
