Guys, I've been a long time lurker on this page, came here to decide on what compact tractor to buy. I ended up getting a Mahindra 2615 gear drive. Got to say I love it so far and has done everything I've asked it to do. I'm wanting to do some foot plot work and a big garden. I have decided on buying a King Kutter II rototiller. I am just curious if anyone out there is using a 5 footer with this particular tractor. I don't want to buy that one and then not be able to operate it. Should I go with the 4 footer instead, I would like to be able to cover the tracks of the tractor, it is 55" wide. Thanks for any input. Mike

It should work fine, I have a 32 hp deere and use a 55" rototiller. Just go slow and your tractor will handle it.

tiller size?

I have a 2615 gear drive and am curious if anyone is using a 5 foot king kutter ii tiller with this tractor. I posted on the attatchment section but haven't had to many responses. Please let me know if you are using this set up, I would like to purchase in the next week if the 5 footer is not to big for this tractor. Thanks for any help.

The 5' King Kutter tiller will not be any problem for the 2615 tractor to handle. I have had some customers use 5 1/2' tillers on the 2615 and have had no lack of power or lift capacity.

Welcome to TBN :D! Your 23 PTO HP should handle a 60" tiller. I have no problems with my 58" tilller and I am running around the same PTO HP. Jay

I have a buddy that has a Kubota B7610 (24 Engine HP and 18 PTO HP) and he runs a King Kutter II 6 FOOT (72 inch) tiller behind his tractor and it handles it very well. I have a 50 inch behind mine and mine doesn't even know its back there. I think you'll be just fine with the King Kutter II 5 FOOT (60 inch) :p

Since you have a gear drive an important consideration is to determine if your ground speed is slow enough in 1st gear at 540 PTO engine RPM to handle a 5 ft cut. Your soil type will weigh heavily in answering this question.

Re: tiller size?

I own a 2615 w/HST and borrowed a neighbors 60" KK tiller. Worked just fine, then I went shopping, was ready to pull the trigger on a new one and found a Woods dealer with a 'demonstrator' in 60" and it works fine.

It's not a Howard, but...
