Loader WHAT IS QUICK ABOUT QUICK COUPLINGS?

Hey, I like that system! That fast connect beats the **** out of quick connect! It looks like the European units I've seen. "Splurting the fluid"? Sounds a bit like, "priming the pump". I doubt there are many below the age of 40 who have heard either term. Hence, antiquated. A unit like the one you referenced on page 38 should be standard equipment on any new tractor today, preferably universal fit and across all brands.

If the standard quick coupler is so bad for you why don't you go ahead and change it out for the type shown in post #7, it is part of the free market system. If someone comes up with a better idea that enough people desire they can market it and succeed. To me the pioneer quick connect works it may not be the easiest or the cleanest but it works reasonably well. I can remember trying to clean and connect the older style threaded connectors , what a pain dirt, grit, crossed threads. We have the multi port on a IH Puma 125 with a loader, we seldom remove the loader and when we do that multi port is difficult to get cleaned up as well as it should be, the not in use cover is a pain and it takes a careful and deliberate two person job getting it lineup and positioned to reconnect and the numerous O-rings to watch out for. If we where removing and reinstalling the loader several times a month it might make sense but we don't. The standard quick connects a couple of paper towels and a can of wd-40 and we are clean, connected and going. So if it is such a bother change your system but backwards compatibility and universal connections work for me.

I am specifically talking about "re-attaching" my loader after it has sat on a solid, flat, concrete floor for 7 months. My tractor is not the problem. It is the implement lines that have built up pressure from relaxing over time. If the lines are reattached in a week, there is no problem. Maybe the problem lies in the JD loader having no direct leg that removes pressure from the cylinders?
The issue is more likely that it was cold in Nov when you removed the loader and its warm now, so the fluid in the lines has expanded and now is preventing the quick connect from opening.

Same here.
I connect/disconnect my loader, backhoe and rear remotes often and very rarely have an issue.

Same here. Never a problem. I had one That developed a leak soon after the installation, but I swapped it out and it doesn't leak a drop now.

Look, one thing that can help, is after disconnection the QC's Immediately re-attach them. Then disconnect them again. This will "puke" out a very small amount of fluid and create a "fluid deficit" in the implement lines. This will make re-attachment easier when the time comes. There are pliers like devices that will depress the seating balls to remove pressure, but I havent ever needed to do so since I started doing the double disconnect thing.

Try running the tractor a while before you disconnect so the fluid is at operating temperature. I’m betting between that and proper bleeding the problem goes away.

I’m betting all these fancy couplings still don’t work if you’ve got heat expansion.

Actually, some of them do have built-in pressure relief features to deal with that. You just have to be ready to spend the big bucks they cost.

I've never tried that. It sounds like a good idea. Thanks! I've never heard of the pliers either. I'll see if I can find a pair.

That Westendorf system looks awesome.

The average CUT buyer will not dismount their loader. So MFGs typically skip the added expense of a single point hookup.
