I do need to get a spare chain on hand here, mine not stretched but the order/ship time is issue and can't just look up the blizzard B54 (also made by RAD) chain part number and find anything.
may just start searching chain specs (length, width, roller size, etc) and see what comes up. sounds like a tomorrow project :)

First snow today, 6+ inches of heavy wet muck, out at 5am to move it. Hopefully this is not an indication of what the winter will bring.

I don't have any spare parts for my blower other than 200 sheer pins, 100 of each type. I bought them in bulk before the first winter. I've replace 2 :ROFLMAO: This is it's 5th winter. Not sure how long I can expect to keep running it without replacing something.

I left it lay and it was gone the next day. I’ve replaced several shear bolts on mine (gravel driveway). Mine were grade 5 bolts from the factory, so I keep a good supply of them. Replaced the chain a few times. Got a roll from TSC and some extra links.

Yesterday I picked up another chute rotation motor from the Kubota dealer. Mine kept getting stuck. I’ve taken it apart several times and re lubed it and cleaned the inside. This time that didn’t fix it. Was $199.

Then I greased everything on the blower drive and the tractor.

One of the auger grease fittings had stripped and fell out, so I drilled and tapped the hole for a 1/4”-28 fitting. Had to grind the end off the tap so it didn’t bottom out. Same with the fitting. Then I changed the gearbox oil. God knows how old that was, it was kinda brown.

I would have liked to do the same thing, unfortunately people needed to get out to got to work and could not drive through 8 inches of slop and the 18 inch back the plow left me.

I don't know how some of you can run a snow blower with a cab.

I'll never do that again.

Well, we certainly got nailed yesterday! At least a foot of heavy, wet stuff. Getting ready to hit it with the blower, but have decided (probably wisely) to put my chains on first, always a chore I do NOT look forward to...

We had our driveway re-paved last year so hopefully there'll not be low spots, but this is just the type of snow that will leave moisture on the pavement surface -- and immediately freeze once the snow's removed. That makes for some exciting times on my steeply sloped driveway!

Have the parts, but have not yet replaced the gearbox seals on the blower -- just topped off the gearbox and hope it'll hold up.

LOTS of accidents, cars off the road, and power lines down (with several fires) associated with this storm. We had a couple of blinks, but fortunately the power came back on and stayed on. Daughter's police scanner was non-stop yesterday afternoon & evening....

Still fiddling with the electric system on the RV; guess I didn't get it put away before snow arrived this year!

Well, I'm happy to report that the blower worked flawlessly, even with this heavy stuff. 4WD low range for a fair bit, but the pavement's previous "grooves" are gone and it cleaned off very nicely. Blower had no issues, other than the sticky stuff clinging to the augers and building up.

Man, these things are fuel-stingy! My spare 5-gallon can of off-road diesel was really getting low, but after hitting the main parts of the driveway it took ... about one quart! After hitting some of the rest of the stuff later (all 4WD/low range), it took the last of my fuel and wanted more. Managed to make a trip to the diesel place and re-filled my 5-gal can, so all is good now. I still can't believe how efficient these small diesels are.

Love my LRB!! ("Little Red Beast," for those who don't know....) Shouldda bought mine years before I finally did.

Ray -- battery's still hangin' in there! LRB now has 16 years and 200 hrs (OOPS! That's 1200 hrs), and counting.... :)
