What else do you do with forks besides lift pallets?

WELL yess and no. My thermometer read about 4c, this morning at 5 am. Still watching tomatoes trying to get even close to ripening.

Sometimes I wonder if Im missing out on functions by using Titan clap on forks for my bucket vs having SSQA installed and using proper forks? Im only limited to 70 pounds on the front pivot anyway.

I used the clamp on forks for a while because I had a pin on FEL on the old JD855. As soon as I got the LS I added the SSQA forks. A huge improvement in every way. Mine were not expensive $500 or so. Just do it and you will be happy.

Helped Father-in-Law build a 16' handicap ramp. Because it was raining, we built it in my garage, stained it and then used the forks to haul it over and set in place.

Thanks. ...and to think FIL didn't think the tractor could even lift it! Ha Had to come in under the end, take it out, turn 180 degrees, come in under the other end, haul it over and set in place. Easy as could be. Tractors help us work smarter not harder. (I was even impressed).

I haven't purchased the forks yet but looking; thinking of using them to move piles of brush !

Thought on it for a while now, decided it was the way to go but now looking for something medium duty and something that will last !

I think I remember seeing a member using his forks with an upper grapple jaw. Appeared to work well.

Well technically, it wasn't on a pallet, but...




I used mine to help the movers move my gunsafe. I carried it over and set it on the moving truck at the old house, and followed them over to the new house and picked it off the back of the moving truck and set it on the front porch for them. Despite it's "small" size, that safe weighs 1000 lbs.

A Grapple System would be the way to go but I'm thinking a couple of straps will work just fine.

The amount of brush I have and will have is small and I can not justify a grapple, even the top jaw.

My last run at another section of the land I used a large Tarp, secured with straps, awkward but it worked, hoping the Forks will reduce the amount extra work the Tarp was.

With a large pallet on the forks, I was able to stack a surprising amount of branches for transport. As I was doing it I realized that fork extensions might allow two pallets and I could stack even more. It would be less if you scooped up an existing brush pile but I just pile mine on the pallet when I need to do it that way.

There are some industrial type pallets that can be either 8 ft wide or long and those also hold a lot of branches.
