I was wondering, what kind of stove does everyone like to cook on?
I like gas ones because they are easier to control the heat on and you can use them when the power is out.

I have an electric stove, but sure wish I had gas, at least for the top burners....

Gas stove and cast iron! Keeping it old school.

I prefer as gas range with an electric oven. I have two outdoor grills. A natural charchol burning "Green Egg" and a propane gas grill (American made).

Same here. Gas burners, electric oven. The fact that the gas burners work with no power is one of the most important reasons to me, just for the sake of rural preparedness.

Our gas is propane which is not as hot as natural gas. Actually, a good electric stove can bring a pot of water to a boil faster than a propane gas stove. That is the only downside for me. I am usually not in a big hurry anyways.

Propane is lower on the hydrocarbon scale so should it not have more BTU's?:)

Viking Gas. Weber Kettle.

Natural gas is what I prefer for a range top, if I'm not grilling out. I prefer electric and convection for the oven.

Fire at the deer camp. Camping stove while far in woods comes in close second:D

My mistake Egon:

Propane - 2,516 btu/cuft
Nat. Gas - 1,030 btu/cuft

I don't know why I have the impression that propane is 'slow' low heat fuel compared to natural gas.

On these HOT days... Just open a can of pork & beans and eat cold out of the can!

I grew up out in the country where we had LPG. Later, we lived in town and had natural gas. Then I used to live in an apartment that was total electric. Then to a house with natural gas. A couple of times when we had new houses built, we specified natural gas because my wife preferred it. Then 6 years full time RV was back to LPG, then we bought a place in the country with LPG. But when we ordered a custom built mobile home, we specified total electric. And now that we're back in town, but in an area with no natural gas lines, so we're total electric, but do have a couple of LPG bottles, an LPG grill, an LPG smoker, an LPG turkey fryer, and a big LPG burner for things such as fish frys (and of course that would serve in the event of an extended power outage. Each has some advantages and disadvantages so I don't care which I have as long as it works right and there are no gas leaks.:)

Is your stove jetted for NG or propane, if it has the incorrect jets/orifices it would under perform:D

that is one of my regrets when we built our house.. Once you cook on gas, you can never go back to electric..

It had the propane kit installed. But thanks for asking.
