It does squat the rear end just a bit.......may make for interesting steering /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yep. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Getting moving and keeping it at 65 mph would be the least of my worries. I wonder what it was like trying to stop! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Hard to say for sure from that picture, but personally, I don't think it's too much for the truck, but looks like he might want to consider moving the tractor back on the trailer a foot or so for better weight distribution.

According to tractordata.com a JD 5020 weight is 13,000 lbs. This is well with the rating for that trailer with 2 10k lb dexter axles.

Definitely a prettygood load on the truck.

I htink it is a little heavier than that. I would say it is over 19,000 with those big wheat land tires loaded

I don't have a spec book handy but if the combined weight is over 16 tons he is WAY overloaded for an F250. The maximum combined weight for that model should be about 9 tons. Not a very safe way to operate.

I want to know how he kept her going straight when he hit his first pothole. Those front tires look like their barely touching the ground!

According to the spec book, either an F250/F350, dually or otherwise, the gross combined vehicle weight rating is 20,000#. If that JD weighs as much as you guys say it does, then the truck is very definetly overloaded and downright dangerous to be in any kind of traffic. I mention being in traffic simply because if whoever did this stupid trick wants to kill someone, he should do it out of traffic so he only kills himself.
I do alot of freeway driving pulling a varity of loads year round, and would not even consider that trick. I get pucker factor on the road all the time. It's not unusual to see this. You just try to keep away from someone loaded like this. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Just read the caption under the picture, can you beleive this idiot is actually proud of the fact that this combination weighed 32000#. No, I would never by a used car from this guy. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Brakes! Brakes! Brakes! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Since the front end is in the air, independent rear brakes would help with the steering.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I agree with you 100% on this. The only thing a stupid trick like this does is get someone hurt. If he was dumb enough to drive it at 65 mph then he was dumb enough to be around other people. I wonder if he will brag when he kills an innocent family with that rig. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

( was able to keep it at 65 mph on the freeway. )

Holly cow...I might and I mean might would have tried this for a short backroad trip but "65 on the freeway" with that load /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

You guys should go over to thedieselstop.com their are alout a guys boosting pulling 30,000 plus one I seen was close to 40,000 .
I don't see the big deal you guys are whining about they make 12 ton trailers for pickups so that means they would have to have brakes to stop 12 ton.Yes 65 seems a little fast It is no worse than these people pulling a big travel trailer behind a jeep or some other small suv

Absolutely; to quote Ralph Nader."unsafe at any speed" /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I made a post earlier that I figured the truck shown had about a 9 ton maximum combined weight rating. Okay, suppose the dimbulb has an accident with his rig, completely the fault of another driver....dimbulb could not stop nor swerve fast enough.

Here comes a sharp attorney, who insists dimbulb put his rig, or what is left of it, on a scale. He gotcha....his argument is, by exceeding the GCWR mandated by Ford, dimbulb was driving recklessly and in disregard of the safety of other motorists. Odds are, his insurance would also be voided.

Oh, one other thing, does dimbulb have the required CDL for operation of a combination vehicle in excess of 26,000 lbs?
Fat chance.

It's a FORD it can take it.

dimbulb is a little smarter than a jdgreen227 in the Stae of Ohio a farmer does not need a cdl to operate even in a semi if you do not travel more than 150 miles from your home.

GCWR is a joke I would not be able to haul anything if I went by that
my truck weighs 9000 and the trailer weighs around 6500 that means I could only haul a 4500 lbs tractor.
