Got in some seat time leveling out the area to be fenced for the future inhabitants of the chicken palace. Good thing is there is more to do. :confused2:

Went to the annual Maine Antique Tractor gathering in Farmington this morning. Had the luck to meet up with Haymaker and his son there. We chatted a bit. Fun to meet TBNer's in person.

My favorite tractor of the day was a 1958 John Deere 730, which must have been quite a tractor in it's day. It was running a 1904 rock crusher via an endless belt.

Watched a few tractor pulls and eyeballed all the old iron.

I could catch the antique tractor bug if I'm not careful :)

Mozart would be of a higher quality than me...:D

never sell yourself short....

remember age and a little experience goes a very very long way in everything. And wines do get better with age!!!!

I have a friend who has a new co-worker, got all the same certs from Cisco he does with near zero experience... Came in saying he could do anyting my friend could even without the 15 years experience... Snowed management and one of the account managers.

We got a good laugh when a request from a customer should have been a 3 hour task, but it took him 2 and 1/2 days... Refused any help, even to be told how that network was configured for a background..

2 Weeks later when the AM got the bill to review before going to the customer, we really got a laugh with the stories he told to explain it.
My friend was asked what it would have taken him and how he would do it..

Funny part was the solution that was implemented was so unbelievable complex that it went around the block instead of turning left 1 door...

Moral of this whole story-- what we sometimes think is a Bach and is good someone else sees it much better--- Unless your the guy trying to show off and make the Mozark when a high school band will do....

right??

Nothing, it gives me a head start on doing nothing tomorrow. Don't have to do anything until 8 Feb 2011, then I'll need to do nothing but ride a airplane half-way around the world to get back home. Doing nothing is on my schedule until the weather warms up in April/May, then, I might look at a tractor and wonder if they start.

Went to my deer lease today in SE Texas to bring home the feeders, cameras and a little other equipment. Took my 17 year old grandson along to do some of the labor. Got everything loaded, picked up all the cameras then stopped by one of the box stands to clean it out. Found that our propane bottle heater gone along with a cheap pair of binoculars. Never had an issue with missing stuff on this lease before. I guess I am glad they did not find my game cameras.

Lucked out for January was beautiful sunny 40 deg day in MI no snow yet. Started by removing B.H. (greasing cyl. & tarping) and installing a Q.H. from harbor Frieght for first time. Picked up stack bushings at TSC to fit hitch oppenning and 3 pt pins securely. Setup 5' backblade and installed some rear 2 link chains for deep snow use on turf tires. Would like to shorten width for front chain set to clear steering knuckle to improve full load angle pull steering. Has anyone used two link on the front of a BX successfully. 1 mile drive by Traverse snow belt this winter I hope to clear w/o buying blower.
Front Chain Suggestions for 4 whl use if needed???

Let's see I started off slow then tapered off. H@#$ I wish I new what I did today. Got the crew running, office work, meeting on progress, looked at struts with boss, Loaded stores, got the rental equipment set up for mondays spraying, inventoried the stores we loaded. Made a dozen rounds, checking on all the projects going on. Spent some more of the states money. Had dinner. Locked in the cell now waiting to do it again tomorrow.

Several things that I did not expect to happen in January in NW Ohio.

1. Cut and split this much wood.
2. Do so in a t-shirt
3. Get a sun burn on my forearms and bald head :)

Beat working on the tasks my wife had for me to do indoors. But really...

After reading about the 72" Ratchet Rakes being sold out at select TSC's on another forum here late last night. I forewent the nice 50 degree MI sunny day to drive 65 miles to grab one for $199. from the usual $359.99. Shame to loose such a mild last ditch event day for those gutters or Xmas light removal but thanks to members here got a great deal.
List of TSC's that are selling them out;

Amazing weather for January in Ohio, isn't it?

That is a heck of a nice looking splitter you got there. May I ask what kind it is?
