I fed the horses, I moved 8 bales of hay from the "barn" to the house, I keep a stack of up to 12 bales under the deck in a dry spot where I can load the wagon and go up the hill to feed them). I had to move the bales 2 at a time cause the yard still is not dry and my truck would tear up the yard or spin out, and the tractor would REALLY tear up the yard. It was pitch black, and there is a big hill between the barn and the house, so I carefully pull my little wagon across side hill back and forth. It has only tipped over on me once, last night... after I finished my chores, which included keeping the fire going on the ribs, I had a happy hour with the wife as the ribs finished, and went to bed tired and well fed.
Work on a Saturday, what a bummer unless you are getting paid OT for it that is. The last 7 years of my career, I worked 7 days a week 12 hours per day for 8 weeks then off for 21 days (2-3 days were eaten up in travel time though) Usually made about 2-2.5 times my monthly salary depending on how the off time fell as it was only 40 hours pay on the off time. That was a pretty good deal but now some of one of the projects I was on when I retired is on a 6 week on and 3 week off schedule which is a little less money but better rotation schedule for sure.
