How does your BH mount?
Part of me really wants to keep my Kioti BK, but need to figure out how to mount as the subframe is different.
I have been lacking in the video department since my son arrived a few months ago. I have tons of footage, but have yet to edit it together and get it posted. I will hopefully this week.
To answer your question:
Short answer: It sits on a 4 point mount made by Woods for the Woods BH. The mount is permanently attached to the tractor. The 3-point links must be removed before hooking up to the BH. But that is pretty simple (3 pins on each side). The hard part is trying to find a spot for the links when they are not on the tractor.
Long answer: It sits on a modified 4 point mount made mostly by Woods for the Woods BH. Woods makes a mount for their backhoes that hooks up to just about every tractor out there, except for mine. I spoke to Woods about what it would take to get one of their mounts either custom made for my tractor (no dice) or what I would need to do to one of their mounts to get it to work, again, no dice. Woods was not helpful at all!
My dealer, who is also a Woods dealer, found that they make a mount for the New Holland Boomer 45. Same TRACTOR as my LS XR4145C. The only difference between the two is the loader and loader mounts. The loader mounts is where the Woods Sub-frame mount hooks into. This will not work with my loader and costs about $2400. But I have a large backhoe sitting in my driveway that I cannot mount. Hiring a fab shop to make a mount is almost double (went down that road too). I can make a mount, but I really dont have the tools to do so with such heavy gauge steel. So out came the checkbook. The dealer and I had no idea what kind (if any) modifications I will need to do to the tractor or the mount that is currently being made by Woods. 4 weeks later, the mount showed up. My dealer loaded into my truck, still on the pallet and wished me luck. I pulled into the shop with the tractor and got to work. Most of the mount bolted directly up, no problems. Again, this mount being made for this tractor. When it came to the loader mounts, they were WAAAAY off! So I had to 'fab' some new mounts. Pretty simple: I had to extend and narrow the end of the Woods mount to marry with the LS loader mount. Had to extend the 'arms' about 6 inches, and rise up 4 inches if memory serves. Then I had to narrow up the mount 3 inches. So I got two plates of steel for each side. One was 6x7 and the other was 12x3 or something, each was 1 1/2in thick to make up for the gap. Cost about $60 for the steel. Welded them up, drilled the holes, and bolted it on. Very solid. Been using it now for a bit, and nothing wrong at all. That BH will lift the back of that tractor clear off the ground (though I dont, well, once, just to see if it could).
I'll have a video out soon of this process. It's just, gahh, new babys take soooooo much time! Totally worth it though.
