??? What law is that under?A locking safe to transport firearms legally in CA to the range.
Pursuant to California Penal Code section 25610, a United States citizen over 18 years of age who is not prohibited from firearm possession, and who resides or is temporarily in California, may transport by motor vehicle any handgun provided it is unloaded and locked in the vehicle's trunk or in a locked container.??? What law is that under?
Gotcha, so a hard sided case would meet the spec., doesn’t necessarily have to be a “safe”, correct?Pursuant to California Penal Code section 25610, a United States citizen over 18 years of age who is not prohibited from firearm possession, and who resides or is temporarily in California, may transport by motor vehicle any handgun provided it is unloaded and locked in the vehicle's trunk or in a locked container.
It has to be a lockable case, so I suppose a poly box would do. A keyed lock is all that is what was suggested to me. The glovebox and center console are not approved because it is too easy to defeat those locks. So unloaded and locked in a box separate from ammo is my understanding of the law. I'm unsure if a biometric lock is acceptable in a car.Gotcha, so a hard sided case would meet the spec., doesn’t necessarily have to be a “safe”, correct?
