I'm wondering what are favorite references for identifying pressure fittings? I'd like to be more confident with some of the less common ones - like JIC with & without O rings.....

There has to be a hydraulic supply store somewhere near you such as Parker. Dirt movers and agricultural users rely on them to keep machines working and they are located within an hours drive of almost any area. Have you done a search for "hydraulic supply stores" near you?

Are you rural or semi rural? If so check with local autoparts, or farm/ranch stores.

I live in a rural logging, farm/ranch, mining town. All of three the auto parts stores, and the three farm/ranch supply, plus the local hydraulics shop, and a guy in a deuce and a half, make hoses in about twenty to thirty minute, and the next business day if you have something strange. And all of them except the guy in the truck, are competitively priced.

I fix a lot of hydraulic hoses. If it is a Kubota tractor, it is more than likely British. Looks like 45 deg. bend in one end. If it is a 1/4'' hose it is probably 1/4 '' British female pipe swivel. They do make jump sizes, but they are rare and expensive.

Since we can’t measure it or check the thread pitch I have two suggestions. First is to look at an old invoice that may show the part numbers they used to make the previous ones. Second is go to www. hoseandfittings.com and look at their selection which is where I get mine when I can’t find them anywhere else. I have bought lots of metric conversion and other fittings there.
