This has been a long week with all this snow. I haven't posted in a loooong time, so I will need some time to catch up on things around here. Just thought I'd share how many things got stuck this week.

1.1999 Jeep Wrangler 4x4, stuck in unplowed driveway, about 20" at the time, needed the M4900 to pull it out.

2.2007 Lexus GX470 AWD (mid-size SUV) stuck three times within 20ft in the freshly plowed driveway, just soft enough to bottom it out. First & Second time needed the Kubota again, Third time Me, my uncle, and my grandfather managed to rock it out.

3.Kubota M4900 4x4 with rear blade, loader, and loaded R4s stuck in snow. Pulled out by '05 Tundra 4x4.

4. 2003 Chevy 2500 6.0 ext cab, long bed, 4x4 with 700lbs of sand plus 1k of misc stuff. This was REALLY stuck. Needed the Case skid steer 70XT(?), because the Kubota was at the office.

5. Case 70XT. Got stuck while pulling out the Chevy. Luckily managed to wiggle it's way out with the bucket and me and my father pushing.

6. 2004 F550 6.0 Dump body, 4x4. This was hauling the skid steer to get the Chevy out. It was just a little caught in a bank from the snow plow that had come through while we were getting the truck and skid steer unstuck. Pulled out by Chevy mentioned above.

7. '52 Allis Chalmers B, taken out to go rescue the Chevy, but got stuck 30ft from the bay door in the snow. Pulled out by Kubota.

8. '51 John Deere MT, same idea. Pulled out by Kubota.

This all happened on our 35 acre place. Then we had a few misc rescues on the road with the Kubota and the Chevy. We are all beat, now with 4-8" more coming, we just wish it would end. We are going on vacation this weekend, but to the MOUNTAINS NORTH WEST OF US. Now we will have even more snow. We will take the Jeep, Chevy, and Toyota all mentioned in the post and hope we won't get stuck.

Take Care,
Kyle

Wow, you got lots of toys for the snow. Maybe a snow machine is the answer.

Egon, that has got to be the best 2wd tractor EVER!! It weighs about 2k with the majority of its weight in the rear. It's got ags...its just the way it was 58 years ago. I, personally, have never seen it stuck. I'm 14, and we've had it for about 42 years, but this is the first time. It has barely a little less as much power pulling off as the Kubota.

Oh, and R Walter, I got a kick out of your comment. This has set the record as the heaviest snowfall winter in Maryland since the 1800's when they started keeping track. Usually only about 2-5" fall every year. This year about 60" have fallen since December.

Makes me feel a little better about getting my little BX24 stuck during the first storm. I did order chains, maybe they will get here before the next snow on Monday.

Good thing you are keeping records as in a couple of months it will be all but a memory. Funny thing about snow, isn't it. We put all this work into moving it, then it just disappears without a trace.

Of course, pictures of all the above would have been that much better. Sounds like you are having quite some fun!

Sounds to me like you have a lot of wheels to take care of.

You know what they say: "If it has wheels or ???s on it it is going to give you trouble."

They are a very nice tractor. My Father purchased one in 1948. I spent many hours sitting on its seat harrowing etc. But without chains snow was difficult. Come winter the horses had much more traction.:D:D

I tried to talk Pop into it a while back. He thinks $200k for a 20 year old one with 20,000 hours is a lot. Haha.

Last year in our storm here in oregon, we got 3-5 feet of snow. It took 2 days to dig out my dad's long driveway with the 3720. I tried to use the skidsteer but rubber tracks and ice on a steep driveway was not practical and very dangerous. I did however have a lot of fun and spent a lot of time in front of the pellet stove dethawing my hands. Of course this year after i finally bought a tractor, the most weve had was 5 inches. i did however plow it just for the fun of it. I decided that if it ever snows that much here again i was going to buy a PTO snowblower.:D I wish you guys out east the best of luck and stay safe out there.

Dang, don't you think you shoild let things dry out a little before you go moving all that stuff around getting it stuck. Stay inside where its warm.:D

Did you lock the center differential on the Lexus? That also turns off the traction control and will make it much better in deeper stuff. If you dont lock it the computers reduce power and apply brakes when the wheels start to spin. Still not going to go through anything 25"s deep for any length.
