Welding Web Down?

I'm of strong opinion concerning imported products sold under American company names.

The inferior quality of the product, if it exists, is not the fault of the foreign manufacturing company. It's the fault of the company that established the design criteria. That is our own U.S. Companies. Not China, Mexico, Afghanistan, or wherever the product was manufactured. They are following the design criteria to the letter or they wouldn't get paid.

So, because a part is labeled made in China, doesn't bother me at all, if I have faith in the U.S. Company selling it to me.

This philosophy of mine is why I have complete faith in Kubota as a brand. Their reputation is on the line. Their products tend to be of high quality.

That same quality can be applied to any Company if they choose to implement it.

Doesn't surprise me Dale; ever try to get ANYBODY from Amazon on the PHONE? I've managed that miraculous feat exactly ONCE, when their drones in "fulfillment" sent me ONE hose clamp for an order of TEN - in a "chat", I was told to forget about it, it's canceled - then I got an email stating that they were gonna "re-charge" my card if I didn't send the ONE clamp BACK (a 65 cent part) - eventually I found a way to get THEM to call ME - ( I STILL don't remember how I finally did it)

I explained that it'd cost THEM more to send the ONE clamp back than the clamp was worth, and finally they agreed and completely canceled the order. During that conversation I managed to get them to send ME an email stating same, which I saved.

I STILL haven't found a way to call THEM FIRST... Steve

Steve. I can’t recall how I finally found an Amazon phone number, but the one time I did, the fellow was SO polite and helpful!

Friendly and wanted to make certain I didn’t have any other requests or questions.

In hindsight I suppose it was because he didn’t get many calls and was happy to chat.

I bought my welder direct from Everlast and added a set of FC rolls for the wire feeder to my order. Cost with shipping was within $10 or so of what I'd have paid on Amazon Prime sans the pair of notched wheels.

Of course, if I have a question I can't go to Amazon for help. They don't have a Mark, and we do. :cool2:

Yes and Mark is equally generous with welding knowledge Everlast or not.

Full disclosure I am NOT an Everlast welder customer.

We don't need to fight here like on WW... I just want it back up! So much knowledge and helpful people there, if you avoid the BS fights that pop up.

Now just to make you all feel at home for a bit:

New post:
Hi! I never welded before and just got a welder from Harbor Freight for $90! I want to make a trailer for a skid steer. Should i just weld together the angle iron from Home Depot to make longer lengths?

First reply:

sheesh......never fails to amaze me how people want to make trailers out of Home Depot steel when there's tons of old bed frames just lying around.

Unfortunately some of the dregs will move off and make it over here out of desperation. I hope that doesn't happen. Those people are more contentious and nasty than Nancy Pelosi at a State of the Union Address....lol. Too Soon?:confused3:

the models sold to the U.S. armed forces!.. that's one, and probably other branches of the Government, too!.. we can't have welders going down without parts or service during a war!..

I used to sell welding equipment to the US Government. It was made in Japan and Malaysia. Not that it would be bad to use USA welding equipment. It's just that there is no such thing anymore. That's not so bad either. Funny thing is when the project was over they would shoot or burn the 3K power supplies and 2K engine drives and throw them in the dumpster and then Buy More !. Otherwise the locals would dig them out and sell them or use them against us.
