So bought a specific used Bobcat skid steer about 15 months ago after advice received here at TBN so far as pricing. However, price paid was the one the local dealer told the seller she should ask, and I really owed the seller for the years she and her late husband helped with chores around here; couldn't bring myself to bargain her down. Wonderful neighbors. Older machine but only had 250 hours; now has 310. No Tier IV of course. It has only plowed snow its entire life. Machine has been great, and every bit as good as Cat and Deere stuff I have owned. But one morning machine wouldn't run and gave me a code saying low hyd fluid, which wasn't true. We do have a dealer here, and that is great of course. He sent a fellow out who really knew what he was doing. He used a laptop to "update the computer." It took about 45 minutes. Problem solved. Driving here took at most 20 minutes each way. Invoice just arrived. Just about exactly $600. Is that about what you would expect given, contemporary cost of getting equipment worked on, etc? This is in the 49th State, and there is no other dealer of anything within a practical distance so I expect to pay premium prices. BTW, even though the price paid was higher than any recommended here at the time I am pretty sure that given what has happened with the economy and prices since then the machine would quickly sell for 30% more here within 24 hours if I put it up for sale.
