Weather Underground Wundermap problem

Has anyone on the forum using Weather Underground
Wundermap had problems in the last week?
Monday, Jun18, I brought up Wundermap to check
the local temperatures/wind speed/direction and all I
got was the usual screen with the menus/map options
but only a sky blue background with no map or weather
stations, and it's been that way since then. I've been
using Weather Underground Wundermap for over a
year with no problems until Monday. This occurs with
both the Chrome and Firefox browser.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any information
will be greatly appreciated.

I don’t use the browser but have the app on my iPhone. The app has been coming up with the temp but everything else is blank- map, extended forecast etc. Sometimes refreshing fixes it, sometimes closing the app and restarting it works while other times I just have to wait a few hours and it works again.

Have you tried clearing out your cache, history etc? I’d assume since you are using two different browsers the above wouldn’t apply but I’ll throw it out there as a long shot fix.

Not sure if it is related but they are going to start charging for things. I have been sending them data for years now they want me to pay to send it

Humph! I just bought a new weather station and have been trying - unsuccessfully - "link up" with Weather Underground. I gave up - there are many other fish in the ocean.

BTW - B7510HSD - WXCat 3 is working out fine. Trying to link up my system to WU was becoming more of a nightmare than I will tolerate. The sixth try was and will be my final effort. No more - if I feel the need, I can use any one of many others. And now they feel the need to charge - no thank you.

Something's been broken/down on their site for a few days, causing the missing data.

I've had an account there for many years. I have not been told I'd have to start paying. I'd balk at that- they're already getting my data. I got a new weather station earlier this year and had no problem configuring it to use my existing account and reporting ID.

I guess if you don't use the API keys you are fine they always provided them free to us that sent data appears no longer the case.

Are they supplying an API key to upload the data or is an API key needed only to retrieve data from WU to display on your web site?

Before WU I stored my data locally but that required special hardware and needed maintenance. OTOH when you own your own data you're not subject to the whims of a company.

I use keys for displaying Radar maps but will not pay them and will stop sending data also if they charge for use.

I did try clearing out the cache and history with no improvement.

Prior to Monday Jun 18, I had a map of Southern New Hampshire with all the PWS
displayed with wind speed and temperature.

Been using this app for over two years on a S4 and now the S8.
Now it opens up and does not load. removed week later reinstalled same thing.
Something is up with the leadership of this service asleep at the wheel.
SO removed it for good.
Use NWS. Just now getting adjusted to format.
Was planning to buy weather station to support this app as well.
Now will look for weather station better suited for local use.

Well - as I said previously, post #4, I've given up on WU. Too many nits, kinks and non-functional "extensions???". Like many sites, of all types, they don't cuddle up to Apple so well. I'm uploading my station data thru Weather Cat 3 to PWS Weather. No problems at all making that connection.

I don't think - OH, H E L L - I know, I've never been so involved in setting parameters, codes, passwords, names etc as this weather station situation. Then right in the middle of all this I get an email from my son - who has a degree in computer technology - saying great - you have an Aeris API key. Hey - to me - API is Alaska Psychiatric Institute. The one and only facility of its type in AK.

Sweet screaming Mary - I've got more darn charts and graphs roaring across my screen ............

This could be fun when I learn what I'm doing

I haven't had any issues with the WUndermap loading, but I have had issues with the '10 day' graphs not loading. Ever since Weather Channel bought them, they have been making more and more "improvements" and making the site less and less useable/enjoyable.

I doubt they support XP anymore, perhaps they made a change that killed compatibility.

I use WU only on computers, I am running Win 7 and Ubuntu, no problems beyond the usual slowness. Using Firefox on all.

It took a while to find you. The id. number brought up a map of america. I zoomed and hovered over some locations and found yours.

Pretty cool sight. and readings every 10 minutes. Wow.

Go to my site page - use the link at bottom of post #18 - see the little picture with the obnoxious weather vane - click on satellite view - click enlarge. Nice aerial shot of my place here in Amber.

The "default" setting was a reading and transmission every FIVE minutes. It made the red temperature trace look like somebody was smearing concord grapes on graph paper. I lengthen it out to every ten minutes and may go to 15 or 20 minutes to get better definition on the trace.
