Which Badlands do you have a like, the 2500 lb, 5000 lb or the 12,000 lb one? Where are they made?

Sam
5000 and the 12. 5 on my side by side and the 12 on my trailer. All made in some far way place, I suspect the Warn is as well.

I'm betting it depends on what model Warn you are talking about, some are made cheaper than others.

I have Warn, HF, Ramsey and a few others, and they aren't all from china.

Should you buy a little more winch than your task calls for, then the winch may work a little less in the world of straining.

Regardless of where it may or not be manufactured.

The range of winches on the market is very broad. The bottom end isn't worth bolting on. The top end is hard to justify.

My uses of a winch are offroad. I only buy top end.

With winches, you get what you pay for.

I burned up a Warn 2,500 lb winch on a side by side. It was under warranty. Shipped it to Warn and they rebuilt it. No charge. The side by side now has a Warn 4,500 lb winch.

Good luck with your repair.

The biggest cause of failure for a winch is getting it wet or muddy and never running it in and out. I have the cheapest winch you could buy at HF, put on my atv over 10 years ago. that winch has been underwater at least 100 times. I make sure to run it in and out a couple times a season. Still works flawless.

Wow, how does your ATV handle that?

fine, weighs 500, rated 1500, snatch block if needed, but haven't. prolly 30-40 hard pulls. doesn't get a ton of use, but it goes underwater a whole lot back in the day.

The under water part was what I wondered about.
