Any ideas on how to collect the chips easy? I was thinking of rigging up a plastic drum with a piece of round duct pipe to blow the chips into.

Blow them on to a heavy canvas..........

I just pile mine up and move them when done chipping. If going from location to location, I let the chips fall where they may.......

This would be a great use for those small trailers that are so prevalent on Craigslist.

I use most of my chips as soon as I make them, so I just line my utility trailer with some plywood and blow the chips directly into it.

For times when I don't need the chips, I have a designated chip pile with some railroad tie sides that I blow them into for storage.

Incidentally, if you have any old scrap lumber laying around that you want to get rid of, you can just toss it in the chipper and make mulch out of it (once you make SURE to remove the nails/staples, etc.). The BX42 just loves to eat 2x4's, 4x4's and anything else you can split up small enough to fit into it...

Thats cool does anything other then gravity hold it down? Have you had any problem with it bouncing around?

I stopped using it, only cutting around my place, I use plastic barrels for the chips and leave one on it's side with the stuff in it for rain/beer/lunch breaks..

It's the right color too.

I picked up 4 dolly wheels from home depot and screwed them into the bottom of a pallet. It is perfect for the BX42 and makes installation simple.

Just picked up my BX42 on craigslist and love it. Already ran it for 2 full days and it sure is a hungry little beast. Post threads like this one helped me go ahead and drop the dough.

I just ordered my BX-42 and it could be here Tuesday. I also bought from Woodward Crossings, Inc.. I bought an orange one and they have once each, orange, blue and green left at the 2011 price of $2499.00. We have had a pretty mild winter here so far, so I am guessing it will turn about the time I get the machine.:laughing:

I ordered this yesterday around 10 am. Hard to believe, but it's here..
