Been gardening for a few years but have the following questions:

1. Do squash and cucumbers cross polinate? Wondering for how far away from each other to keep them apart if they do.

2. My late winter garden is doing great. First time I have done broccoli and wondering if one goes ahead and picks/cuts off the small heads to stimulate more growth.

3. How long does broccoli keep producing?

No, while they may look similar (being vines) they are not in the same specific family and cannot cross.

1. No, they don't.
2. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by small heads. You will get one main head in the center. Once you pick it, it's done. The small flowerettes can be picked any time.
3. Mine produce flowerettes for a at least couple weeks after I pick the main head.

Thanks for the info about the squash and cucumber. The broccoli is a dissapointment then because if you just get one main head then it surely isnt much for the room it takes up...........So if I pick them when they are say golf ball to tennis ball size they wont put on more........more or less?...............Thanks.......Dennis

Once you remove the first head, small secondary heads form. They are a lot smaller but just as good.
