Using barbells to make implement weight brackets

I saw these the other day when I was looking for weight ideas.

I sure wouldn't want those sticking out that far. I made mine where they are even with the outside of the wheel. Mine has 200 lbs. on each side.

Dumbells also work. These are 35#'ers. U-Bolted to the side of the bracket. 25#'ers fit above them.

What is the filling used for weight in plastic coated weights? Lead?

If so, you could melt and form into other sizes for weight?

On that type of ground packing equipment, weight is your friend.

Nice Idea!! I remember when I bought my weight bench back when I was 14 (and all of 125lbs), my dad said I would never use it. Boy he was wrong, Part of it went on a dolly to make a firewood rack, part went on the side of my barn to hold wood, another part is used for my mail box. So I use that weight bench every day
