Used Orchard Tractor

Not real familiar with the JD model #'s. I'm looking for a used 4WD tractor, 80+/- HP, and low COG. My main constraint is lugging a 500 gal sprayer up hills. Any particular model #'s I should look at?

New Holland has had the orchard tractor market covered for several years. TN90F, TN95F, TN95FA, and T4050F models with Auto 4WD and SuperSteer outperform the rest. Don't skimp on HP if you are using a 500 gal airblast sprayer on steep hills.

Depending on your row spacing John Deere did have a 6000 series orchard model I don't recall the designation but it was a very low tractor. Around here most everyone uses New Holland TN-F's or John Deere 5000N which are low and narrow tractors. They work well in the vineyards and the orchards. They have hp up into the 80 pto range.

We have a couple MF 4355 orchard Tractors. They have 85 pto hp. They are good little machines that can do a lot of work on a little fuel. I might be looking at letting one go here soon since I don't have as much work any more.

Massey has never been a player around here for some reason. I know the local Massey dealer use to sell tons of 135's back before my time which is why so many are around here still. However, when the kids took over they have lost a lot of customers. I have been looking at vineyard/orchard tractors for quite a while now and I have never seen one Massey vineyard/orchard tractor at their dealership when I have stopped. They carry Landini and push those tractors more so then the Masseys in the narrow tractors for orchard/vineyards. The last time I talked to them they said they couldn't even get a Massey narrow tractor as Massey didn't have anything to offer at the time as they were in between models.

I would love to hear a review of your tractors though and if you could post up some pics that would be great.

Narrow wold be nice, but low profiles what I'd like We've got 20' row spacing (M7/ central leader) and relatively level or terraced on 75%. It's the 25% that could use something lower than our Kubota M7500DT. It's 80" wide and even with that I have a couple of quesy spots.

The orchard/vineyard tractors are narrow "and" low. They are quite stable even with their narrow width but if you have the room for a larger, low profile tractor then go for it. I don't see very many of those type of tractors in this area but I know other areas have a ton of them. Location is a funny thing when it comes to what type of equipment people use for the same jobs
