Loader Unlevel bucket

   / Unlevel bucket #61
With as many folks that have spoken up about having this issue since I first posted the issue back in April, I also have my doubts but they asked for pictures of the cylinders and so forth so I complied. I have a feeling that the manufacturer of the loader has an issue with the jig that holds the loader together for welding might not be completely in alignment but then again the loaders for the 24, 37 and 55 are all different so that would mean each jig would be off.

Also, I can't remember for sure, but I'm pretty sure my loader didn't have the issue at first, but developed the tilt after putting some hours on it.

Mine definitely had this when I got it.

Gunny, did you ever bring this up to your store and if so what was their response?

I got a call yesterday that the new cylinders are in. Looking to rent a trailer and take a couple days off work to haul the tractor down to the store. PorkChop, why in the world would they say it's because you used a root rake when RK sells grapples for that purpose. Maybe they really meant for the grapple to be used to pull Spanish moss out of the trees. If the cylinders don't fix it I guess they'll have to change the loaded next. I've been holding off on buying their grapple until it'll sit level.

You are preaching to the choir. It seems the metal quality on the implements is what really is lacking. I had an issue with my grapple actually bending the teeth on the cross bar on the top section. One almost ripped completely off. RK was good about replacing the top section of the grapple, however it did take them nearly a month to get it back to me. On your tractor DonRybak take a look at the brackets that the loader attaches to your tractor with. I found that both of mine had actually bent a decent amount compared to new tractors. I am sure when you go to drop your tractor off mine will still be sitting in the bull pen in the parking lot lol.

Took a harder look at mine today and yeah, definitely higher on the left side than the right, regardless of what tilt the bucket is at. You can also see it from the seat when comparing the loader cross bar with other parts of the tractor. I haven't had to switch out the bucket yet for another implement, so not sure if it will be that big of a deal for me. I've been using the bucket to do some half-arsed grading on our property by back dragging it. Our land isn't level, so I'd be hard pressed to tell a difference doing this work if my bucket were level vs the inch or so it's off side to side.

To be honest, with all the joints and angles involved in the loader mechanism, I'd be more surprised if the bucket did end up being perfectly level. I know my previous Massey that was purchased new didn't have a level bucket either. If I find that it's giving me issues with implement changes in the future, I guess I'll address it then. Maybe take a little air out of one of the rear tires.

I agree that it will never be perfect, but for so many owners to have the same issue with the bucket out of level the same amount, in the same direction means there's something bigger at work here.

Even though it might not affect the way you use the loader currently, at a minimum, I'd document it with the dealer so they can't say it's out of warranty later.
