Well, I finally got around to finishing my 400hrs. service today. I had a 2.5 gal. container of Super UDT in the shed, so I pulled out the manual and the tractor and proceeded to get to work. The only thing I had left to do was change the fluid in the front axle. I thumbed through the manual and found the section that I needed. After a quick look I see that it says the front axle holds <font color="red">"5.5L (5.8 U.S. gals.)"</font> At first I think, wow, I don't have enough fluid. Then I realize there's no way it can hold that much. It's just a typo and should actually say 5.5L (5.8 U.S. qts.) It was a relief to know that I didn't have to order anymore Super UDT. The conversion is actually correct on a different page where it shows capacities which is what I went by when I ordered the fluid in the first place.

Here's a pic of how I filled the axle. How do the pro's do it? Do they use a pump or a funnel and hose like I did?

The pros would have used a rusty piece of baling wire to hold the funnel. You are showing that you are a novice by using that pretty piece of blue wire. We'll overlook it this time but you need to keep an eye out for some rusty wire before you do that again. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Had the same typo as you. Filed it the same as you. But you should paint the wire.

Did the wire come with the funnel? Mine didn't and now I can't find the packaging or receipt.

Neat idea. By just reading the posts on this board I've got a ton of good ideas. Problem is I occasionally forget them (Senior moment), so I've started to download them and keep them in a folder in my workshop. (Now where did I leave that folder?)

You could always just add them to your My Favorites and have them handy anytime that you wanted them! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Don't let these guys get to you. They obviously do not know what they are talking about as real pros would have used bayler twine.

Try reading a manual for an HP/Agilent Semiconductor Parametric Analyser. Extremely powerful tool cable of measuring voltage an current's into the femptoamp range. That is, if someone shows you how to do it... The original is in Japanese, and the translation has some spelling and range typo's. That is not a big deal. The big deal, is understanding the translation /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
