When you had Direct TV did your dish package come with a local channel antenna? Mine came with a small saucer shaped antenna with 2 steel curved wires 180 Deg. apart. (Too late tonight to take a pic of it). I went back to cable about a year ago (better deal including high speed internet) but I still have that saucer antenna up about 30'. When the power and cable goes out and I'm on generator, I use it as backup. (rabbit ears don't cut it here, only 1 or 2 channels on ears) I get about 7 local channels crystal clear with the saucer (stations are located about 20 mi. away) and 4 distant stations (not crystal clear but viewable from 75 miles away) Most people think its a scanner antenna.
