Would just like to pass a good deal on to everyone. Tractor Supply has 3/8" X 14' logging chains marked down from $47.99 to $19.99.
I thought it was a good deal so I bought 8 of them. They come is a cheap black plactic box that snaps close and has a handle for carring.

My receipt says the regular price was $47.99 so I not sure but to me they are worth $19.99 :)
I did see the new chains that we're replacing these and they looked to be the same thing but without a plastic carring case and the new price is $59.99
A few weeks back I purchased two 3/8" X 14' logging chains from Horror Friehgt..... I believe they have a zinc? coating on them. If I can remember I think they were $29.99 with 25% off so these from TSC were a little cheaper.

The same grade of chain at HF is $29.99 so its a better deal than HF has by 1/3. Don't know who makes the HF chain either but for sure Chinese.

When I was 16 I lived in a small town in Michigan away from harbor freight, Lowes or menards. I bought a 20 foot chain from tsc. Something I had really been wanting . It was a 20 foot 3/8 inch high test chain grade 43 and has one slip hook and one hook that fits the neck of ball hitches. It is rated for 5,400 pounds as well. It cost nearly 60 $!

The only chain my dad had was a 12 or 15 foot 1/4 inch. Very dangerous as it could brake very easy under towing loads pulling vehicles out of snow. It is light weight snd perfect for minor task.

Years later I went to my first harbor freight and menards. They have way lower prices on hitches, chains shackles, chain binders etc!!

Its OK I bought it and now have it. I can say it paid for it self. Never did break as it is very strong! For what the 14 foot is it is worth 20$! That's a good deal to use on binder chain for skidsteers and tractors.

If it were me I would buy 20 foot of 5/16 grade 70. It is rated close to the grade 43 but lighter chain. A friend of mine hauled steel rolls for several years. He said "I would rather at my age use 5 or six 5/16 grade 70 chains than 4 or five 3/8 chains. In order to drag a 3/8 chain on the deck of a trailer can require a lot of effort when your tired.

Lowes and menards have great priced on 20 foot 5/16 grade 70 chain. It is gold colored and 36$. 3/8 chain is better for pulling semi trucks out of ice and snow I found out at work when using our pay loader! One semi truck with two 28 foot trailers is quite heavy to pull!!

I have 5 of the Lowe's 5/16" 20' grade 70 chains for my equipment trailer bought new in 2005 and no problems. No rust after 9 years either.
