Im looking for an estimate or recommendations on transporting an 18,000 lb excavator from Pittsfield MA to Canterbury NH. Its roughly 160 miles one way.

I would think this type of thing is going to be very regional. I know when my Uncle bought a large 8 wheel JD articulating tractor at a auction it was $3 a load mile back in about 2004. That was in Indiana. He bought the tractor and a guy approached him about hauling it. He was actually just going to drive it home the 50 miles but instead let the guy haul it.

I would say ~$400. plus or minus $50. I'm basing this on experience with having done this over a similar distance and the current cost of about 2.50/loaded mile for this type of shipping. It's a long one day job.
