Tree shear

You were a busy, busy man to shear over 1000 trees this past weekend!!!! At 50 per hour that's 20 hours of seat time!!!! My back would hurt from sitting that much!!!!

I bought from EZ Axe Manual Tree Shears | QuickAttach for 2 reason over other brands and type. They build it in house and it's made in USA, yes it was a little more but not much I dealt with Arron and he was great to deal with pm if you want his info.

Second with over 1000 trees this weekend I didn't have any come back in me and my machine but my does have fops. I wouldn't but it on a regular small tractor but it works good on my B26TLB as it's built for abuse. On a skid steer would be best but with thawed 1/2" of slime and the hills I had to deal with and creeks the tractor works great.

My wife pointed out the best part I cut trees and brush all day and my back don't hurt and didn't dull any chainsaw chains.
On the switch or rotation I found that once a tree was down I didn't need to be square with it to cut it just dump curl to get close and cut it.

It's great you like your shear; American made and all; but the difference you paid is the equivalent of the price of a second shear for what Titan is currently selling them for: $2,429.99 today. That's a $2,290.01 additional cost most people would not want to fork over regardless of whose steel was being used. And the standard the steel meets is the same for both, unless you know something I'm unaware of? Titan specs: "Specifications: heat treated AR400"
Just trying to help folks pay what they might want to vs. what some can afford....
I believe mine was over $3K in 2015, but, as already stated I'm not near my receipt to verify...

This shear, that Coyote found, with hydraulic rotation coupled with a Tele-Handler would be a very wicked combination.

I was close to buying a shear last fall, but the exchange rate and costs of importation drove the price well over my budget. I got estimates from Skid Pro and Quick Attach and the total (delivered) was well over CD$6k. If the Canadian dollar gains ground relative to the US $ in the next year, I may reconsider...or maybe Titan will put out a hydraulic rotation version with a better price than the competitors. I really covet one of these tools!

I just received an email from Skid Pro. They have a tree shear with some cosmetic shipping damage that is on greatly reduced price.

Call them and ask for Ben.

I get their emails and saw that. If it is the one pictured, it doesn't have hydraulic rotation.

If you get hydraulic rotation of the head do you need two 3rd function circuit to loader boom?

Open / close shear circuit.
Rotate head circuit.

Both of my tractors only have a single 3rd function circuit to loader.

Yes you would need a 2nd set of hydraulics up front which I don't have on any of my machines or the attachment would need a diverter valve and you would need a way to run that. Thus the reason I got a manual rotation.

That what I thought. Looks like a great fit for a skid steer though.

Or a compact tele-handler like Xfaxman has. I think the long boom, so you weren’t under overhead limbs, would be a great tool
