Loader Transporting Chainsaw, gas, etc & firewood to & from???

Guys,

I am looking for ideas here.

I have a ton of downed timber I am harvesting for 2 reasons, Fire wood and Fence posts.

I am keeping all straight 7' long 4" minimum width for fence posts, the rest is fire wood.

So how do I manage to carry my chain saws, etc. to and from wherever I am cutting (mostly from, when the bucket/grapple is full of wood, where do i put the saw & stuff)?

You can strap a box/basket to whatever you have on the 3PH for ballast.

NICE wood handling process too!

I like RRR's idea about using my ballast as a hauler of some sort. K0ua has something similar with his homebrew ballast box but it is not for chainsaws...

I use a receiver hitch with 2 inch ball. I have a trailer made from the bed of a full size dodge pickup with a large toolbox on front of the frame.I transport the logs on my FEL. Since green wood weighs more than seasoned, I cut some firewood in the field and have plenty of room in the trailer for kindling cut from the branches. Everything is kept somewhat separate making unloading and stacking a breeze. Happy Tractoring.:tractor::tractor:

Some ideas;

- add a 2" receiver hitch and cargo hauler or pull a trailer
- add a carry-all with custom box for firewood and tool storage
- customize your ballast box to hold stuff

Not exactly your situation, but I built my carryall with a removable shelf/seat on top to carry chain saw, tools, refreshments, etc. However, I found that when I am clearing brush and want to pile the brush in the carryall to move it, the top shelf has to go.

If I throw the saw and gas in the carryall, the brush winds up piled on top and I have to keep digging my saw out. So, I also fabbed up a "tractor tub" that goes into the receiver hitch of the carryall. That way, the saw and gas can ride in their own compartment, separate from the brush in the carryall. If I really want to carry a lot of stuff, in addition to the wood, I hang my utility trailer on the back of the carryall via the receiver hitch.
