What would you expect a dual axle 16' steel trailer with a 2x treated wood plank deck to weigh?

I have one of these, and it seems heavy - but how heavy?

I was initially thinking 1,000 to 1,500 pounds?

TIA

I would think it would weigh more like 1800-2000 lb empty. I built a 16' dual axle trailer with dual 6K axles and a wood deck quite a few years ago and it weighed 2100 empty. My current 20' tilt bed weighs almost 2500 empty.

My 18' trailer weighs about 1,250# with out the ramps. I had it weighed so I know this is its weighed. By the way its a wide model but I learned the hard way a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 is too wide. Add another 100# or so for the ramps. I also have a winch now but just use my jumper box to power it so not battery to weight it down, just a 25# winch. I would guess they run form 1,200-2,000# depending on how heavy they are built. Mine is a 7,000# unit. I have hauled many SUV's on it including a Suburban 110 miles, and a Navigator from Detroit to Indianapolis, I am guessing 250 miles plus another 20 or so cars and tractors.

Width between fenders. That's the reason I only have wide trailers. For that occasional time you need to haul a vehicle, especially a full size truck. Mine are 82" between the fenders and a full size blazer with 33" tires just fits between them. Most trailers people buy are only 76" between fenders. That's great for hauling CUT's or small cars but not for full size trucks.

Like Diamond pilot said, your trailer weight will depend on how well it was built. If you have a local dump / transfer station they can weigh it for you. I had to get a certified weight slip from them to register the homemade trailer I built years ago.

I have an 18' equipment trailer which is said to weigh 1990# by the mfg but I have never weighed it. It is 5T and I have towed it with a 2001 Silverado 1500 hauling a JD 5220 with FEL and rotary mower. Today I would not be allowed to do the FEL and the Rotary mower because I had to raise the FEL over the ramps by backing the traileron and would not be able to secure it well in that position.

82" is what mine is between the fenders but like I said a 1996 Ram 1500 will not fit. Drove 2 hours for a neighbor to get it when the transfer case went out and could not make it fit. If I remember it was about 1" too wide. As you can see from the picture the 2004 F-250 PSD 4x4 I have pulling it would have fit, just not that Dodge.

I have a 16' dual axle landscape trailer with a 4' ramp made with 2x2 tubing instead of angle iron ( the top rail is also 2x2 tubing) that weighs 1975 lbs according to manufacture.

Mine is just made of Angle Iron but does have a 4" C Channel going from the tongue to the axles. Yours sounds much more stout than mine but takes a 700# payload hit. I guess you need to way the options when you buy one and see what is important to you. I will say my trailer has many thousands of miles towing heavy loads and I just checked it over last week and not one sign of anything bent or cracked. I payed close attention to the welds and they all look good. Its a 2003 model and has only stayed outside the pole barn maybe 5 nights so it still looks like new.
