trail camera STOLEN

ANYTHING can, and will be stolen in today's society.

I used to have a johnny house to keep quail for training purposes on a friends fallow field. I would release, and tend the birds everyday for recall. work the dogs on them on checkcords... puppy stuff. The birds were unharmed. Shortly before Thanksgiving one year, someone stole them all.. Who knows, maybe they needed a meal more than I did... But we did have to revert to pigeons after that... A less than desirable alternative.

When did the country travel so far down the gutter? I can't believe the things that people are stealing. So sad, that our once great country is now just a nation of criminals and malcontents, with a few of us hard working suckers tagging along.

There comes a time in every young man's life when he looks up from his self-absorption and decides that the world has suddenly gone to **** in a handbasket. Music is terrible. Politicians are lying scumbags. Kids today are loafers with no respect for their elders. And what used to be a country of hard-working entrepreneurs has become a nation of lazy crooks, suckling at the welfare teat. Except for you, of course.

I've got news for you. It's pretty much always been like this. From the founding fathers themselves, to those who treated recent immigrants as slave labor, to cattle rustlers and claim jumpers, to moonshiners and proprieters of speakeasies, to drug dealers and gang-bangers on urban streets, to embezzling lawyers and stock-brokers on Wall Street. America has always been a nation where a hard-working person could expect to find a less-hard-working person with more underhandedness than morals to take advantage of him. It still is. And I ain't saying that's good or bad--that's a question best left to philosophers. All I'm saying is, what's changed isn't America. It's your outlook on America.

This opinion is worth what you paid for it. Have a nice day

Maybe you've just got really smart deer.
Tim, your contribution is absolutely senseless.
The OP along with other TBN members including myself that place game cameras on our property spend quite a bit of money to do so and a loss of one or more cameras is devistating.
We do it for the photographing/recording of the pristine wildlife that pass through our area and for someone to trespass on our property and steal/mutilate our personal possessions that in fact harm none is not a funny matter.

Are you being serious:confused:

I know it sucks a game camera was stolen, but lighten up man. Sometimes in situations like this, a little harmless humor does people good.

Its funny though you single out the guy talking about smart deer, but not a word to the ones joking about not being able to find them if they used trail-cams????

Personally, I see nothing wrong with the comment. And I do use trail cams too BTW.

I'm not sure how your particular camera is made. I use the Bushnell Trophycam's. I bought security boxes. The camera goes in the box. The face plate of the box is then put in place and the security cable threads through the box and face plate through a set of overlapping holes. To get the camera out you've got to remove the cable. The cables are Masterlock Python's. Someone would have to have a bolt cutter, grinder, or torch to cut the cable. Its a crying shame, but its what we have to do.

YES I'M SERIOUS-
These cameras run between $50.00/$900.00-lighten up man? Nothing in situations like this, a little harmless humor will not make people good. Just ask those that have lost game cameras through theft and vandalism. Have you lost a game came cam?????

Well, you seem to be the only one that has had a problem with those "harmless humor" comments. And what about the other two comments that were funny I mentioned??? You didnt point them out so I guess those were okay by you?

No I havent had a game can stoled, But have had other stuff stolen. $3500 worth of chainsaws just two years ago. Yea, it sucks, but life moves on. And when your mad at the world all the time, sometimes a little humor can be good.

What about all the other threads on here too. Like threads where people have rolled a tractor. A serious situation that may not be a laughing matter. But someone always finds a way to inject a little humor. Or what about broken tractor threads. Same thing.

You cant take things too seriously. Its what makes this site great. If we all took things as seriously as you, and always stayed on topic, and didnt have the general BS'ing that we do here, this forum would be pretty boring.

I thought about trail cams once, but never followed through because I was afraid they'd be stolen.

Sorry you lost your camera bro. Everyone hates a thief....

... except for the guy who jumps on the too-good-to-be-true super cheap deal on a barely used, slightly damaged trail cam on craigslist.

Use a permanent marker, engraver, or wood burner to mark your name and phone number into the plastic on stuff like this. No market = way less theft, and the deer don't care.

Even if its not a "pro" planning to resell it. Having your name on it makes it less likely that some wandering buckethead is going to take it because even a buckethead knows he can't use it himself with your name on it. Or that Mom and Dad will get ticked off if they find it in his room.
