04 Deere 4610 E-hydro
Sold my 03 4510 with power reverser and 460 loader to buy a 04 4610 with e-hydo and 460 loader. Hope I didn't make a mistake going to a hydro.

I don't think you will regret the hydro one bit!

What gear range do you hyro guys use to dig with ? Mine has A, B & C with A being low. Is it safe to use b range for loader work, if so then I wont have to shift at all:D . Just looking for a little input, I've only ever ran the gear models. Jim

Use the A range for digging.

I really depends on how nasty it is. I use B range for almost everything. For nasty stuff - A. C for transport. The e-hydro will tell you when it needs a lower gear - it just wont do it. 4wd and A range is pretty crazy my 4720.

Do you have a toothbar on the bucket? It is night and day difference digging.

Let us know what you think of the hyrdo after you use it a while.

I was able to get a little seat time today on the hydro. The sounds it makes while digging seems odd to me, i'll have to get used to it. I used A & B ranges and it had no problem at all, I bet it turned an hour of diggin into a half hour and that was my first time digging with it. Thanks for the input, Jim

Do you think the reduction in time was due to the larger tractor or the e-hyrdo?

The 4510 and 4610 are the same tractor, they just added fuel to get 4 more h.p. it has same size engine. They both have the 460 loader and 4x4. I dig gravel out of the creek so it's alot of back and forth and turning around in tight spaces. I ran about 1600 rpm and B range so didn't need to shift at all and the hydro was just plain faster at this type of work. I started with a JD 750 gear then a 870 gear then the 4510 gear with reverser and now the 4610hydro all doing the same work and same location. Now the 4510 was a lot faster then say the 750 but their is a big diff. in size. Jim
