Trade today for B2630, B3030 or B3200

I traded my B7800 last year for a L3240HST. It now has 35 hours and I want to go back to a B which seems to fit my needs better. Messed up and emailed Brady yesterday at Barlows and told him of my desire to trade back to a B. He has priced the trade to the 3 I picked. A used B3030, used B2630 and a new B3200 all with Kubota FEL. Going to stop by lot today and do the deal on one of them. This will be 7th purchase from them in 5 years (you think "satisfied customer") hope they still have hats.

Dang, I don't know if I could let go of my L3240. I love the hydraulics power as well as the tractors.

I'd stay in that hp range so prolly the 3200.

Don't take this the wrong way but that sounds like an expensive
thing to do. You better give that some thought. Next year you may decide you need a big tractor again

New B3200 FEL will be my 7th purchase from Barlows in 5 years. Hat(s) is included. Steve said he gives more hats than Brady. Brady did the deal but Steve did the paperwork. The L3240HST is a great machine but it's to big for me and my property. If I had not previously owned a B I would have not known how much better the B suits my needs but I did. The B has the same HP as the L but is smaller and considerably lighter. Know I'll lose a bit of bucket capacity but that's not a big deal to me. With the B I was always ready to jump on it and do something. With the L I was anxious to work it but I would always do the "do I really want to get it out today or just wait till I had more to do". Yes, it was a mental attitude thing but I still had it. I started to trade a couple of months ago but didn't. The more I thought about keeping the bigger more expensive machine and not enjoying it or getting full benefit from it I decided I should trade if I could get a decent trade. I did. So, I got some extra money back and another new tractor that I'm anxious to get. Also B will fit in my garage without lowering ROPS and L wouldn't. I also don't ever want to trailer the L and I believe the B will be much easier (mentally and safely) to transport on my dual axle brakeless trailer. Now you all know Barlows has a L3240HST, QA bucket with 35 hours on the way. I'm sure they'll trade up or down as they have with me. I know my last trade in last year was a BX1500 that went to W Va to a satisfied customer.

Size considerations aside, IMO you might miss some of the other features of the L3240, i.e. position control, telescoping control arms, etc, therefore why not consider the B3030?

Peters38. If those 3 ph options were of value to me I would have kept the L. In a year with the L they never made an impression on me. A new B3030 is several thousand dollars more than the new B3200 and the difference is primarily in the 3ph features as far as I can tell. I know it also has some extra bucket lift power and cruise but the B3200 has enough for me. I purchased Pat's Quick hitch arms several years ago for my previous B7800 and have since bought the cheaper ones off Ebay which takes care of my little 3ph use very well. I have a BX2350 60"MMM for my mowing. I will rarely use my 6' RFM. My uses for the B will be some dirt moving, pulling a Fergueson overseeder (it rolls on spikes when attaching) once a year, maybe 2 time. Maybe once a year big fertilizer funnel spreader. Rare use of boxblade and landscape rake and both are backup to them and lift quich attach arms then hook up top arm and drive off. I keep reading about the 1/4"ing valve vs the set it option. I do see the difference or have experienced the difference but it hasn't been that big of a deal for me. I operate mostly up front not on the back. Again, the 3pt quick attach arms take care of the problems hooking up that I first experienced when I started tractoring 5 years ago. Barlows had a slightly used B3030 and was offering me quite a bit more to boot to me for the B3030 vs B3200 but I chose the new B3200. I do a week of research before I spend an hour of buying. I have also bought 7 Kubotas now trying out what works best for my use and as I said a hundred and ten cars ago, I think I now have the right ones for my needs. Course the auto show the other night on TV showed some pretty interesting new cars. We as Kubota owners have different needs and uses for our tractors. I read about those of you that want cabs on your tractors. When I see a tractor with a cab I start having trouble breathing thinking about being enclosed in that "thing" but I don't plow a drive in the winter. I don't start my tractor in the winter. When it's real hot out I also don't operate my tractor. So, I don't want a cab but I can see where it's a most desired option for some. I'm also a bit claustrophobic. I also read of your adventures with snowblowers and think what fun that would be but we haven't had and inch of snow at one time here all winter. And it melted before I could get from one end of my drive to the other.

If its not a L3240HST that your looking for just wait a while because history says that John will be trading a low hours B3200 with FEL in the not to distant future . Thats ok John I would trade if I could but I couldnt trade that often and stay married. Congrats on the new toy, they look like fine machines.

Sounds like an expensive habit. My goal is always to buy the right product so that I will be satisfied and keep it for a long time. I should say that I haven't always succeeded.

Sounds like we are the same. I have the same goal but like you I don't succeed. Guess everyone has a different idea of what's a long time. I also am willing to admit I made a mistake and mistakes are costly so I come to the conclusion that I made a mistake and rather than live with it I pay the price and trade for the one that is really the one that will suit my needs for a long time. 5 years ago I knew nothing about tractors and no idea of what 4wd tractor and diesel hp over gas hp meant. I talked to farmers, gentlemen farmers, Kubota, JD and NH dealers. Studied extensively the internet and came to the conclusion I needed a 4wd 20HP diesel tractor. Barlows offered the best deal by $2000 over NH and $3000 over JD so I bought a BX2200 and added FEL thinking I was wasting money for FEL. Due to my rocky, gullied, hillside lot I came to the conclusion that I had to have more ground clearance if I was going to do more than mow and the FEL was incredible, had no idea it would be so useful. Traded the BX to a B7800. Wife said B to big couldn't help me mow so added a BX1500 MMM for her to help me mow which rarely happened. 3 years later and tractors paid off I concluded if B was that much better than BX the L would probably be that much better than a B. 0% screams at me so back to Barlows and traded B for L. L isn't that much better than B for my use and L stays in the garage most of the time. 0% still screaming at me so back to Barlows and buy a $3600 Kubota gas mower for mobile home park. See the front deck mowers at a golf course in TN and decide that's what I need for park so sell Gas Kubota and back to Barlows and get a F2880E 6' rear discharge deck for park and love it for flat level mowing. 0% still screaming and back to Barlows to trade BX1500 to a BX2350 60" MMM for home mowing. Conclude that I made a mistake and L is going to sit in garage mostly so back to Barlows and still 0% interest I lower my monthly payments and buy a B3200 which I believe I will use more than the L after one year of ownership has shown me I prefer a B over an L from actual experience. Now I have the 3 that I need from my own experience and so they will all last me a long time and I probably won't trade again! Unless Barlow continues to offer me deals I can't refuse. Seriously, Barlows are responsible for all this trading because of their good prices and no pressure and I tell my wife that everytime.

I don't have to phone. I drive by the lot about every other day. That could be part of the problem. As I said before, seeing that sea of orange with some dots of red and I believe I hear a metallic sounding voice calling for me to stop and enter the lot. Sometimes I think it's saying "just come in and see what's new, you don't have to buy". Once there, Steve is leaning against the wall or comes out of the office with this slight grin. (and a different designed or colored Kubota hat on his head)
