Hi Y'all
Yes I killed my quick connect attachment for my loader on my Mahindra 6500-this past weekend. I am looking at a universal unit from HaySpear. I want something heavy duty.

I believe I caught the corner of my wide bucket on a cherry tree and heard a pop as I pulled backwards. (I was in a bottom area and there may have been a difference in height slightly also.) The manufacturer's replacement price I recieved was about $750 with shipping included in it. It is worth about $500 to me. The hayspear model is about $475-have not checked on the shipping.

Any mutual experiences out there? I'd like some with a couple of cross braces along the width. Internet search did not do well.

Is it possible to have the damage repaired with some extra reinforcement where it failed?

I have not gone that route. The middle of the device (thin steel) is twisted. I do think the ends could be cut off and a new piece of plate steel could be welded between the two quick connect boxes. Maybe I need to investigate that.
Thanks

Michelle,
Can you post a picture or two? Front and side views would be helpful to us so we could offer you other alternatives than just replacing...

I have not made time to take pictures. I did load up the skid steer quick connect and take it to a fab shop. The owner looked at me and said I was going to challenge him. So I am taking the risk that he can fix the robust twist and add a little more steel to the unit.

Otherwise I am looking at min $600 to $800 for a unit that still might twist next time I get the bucket teeth caught up in another cherry tree- which is what I have figured I had done- not head on but on one end and the movement backwards caused the twist. I was not on perfectly level ground, I was working in the ruts caused by the 4 wd treads. So this is my documented story that I share with you. I guess I am assuming and betting the fab guy is good enough to fix it. He did say he would put the experienced older guys on it.

Let you know what happens. I may eventually get my other tractor loader set up with skid steer and if I go that route I will buy the boxes offered with the flip levers and get someone to weld me some C Channel between the boxes. What I found on the internet was 3 by 3s (1) and 2 by 3s(2) on the pricier models - I like C Channel.
