Buying Advice Tractor Shopping

So, are you selling/trading or keeping the Kioti? Are we talking $40k, Plus the little tractors sale price available? Do we need to save $5k of the $40 to buy impliments? Im guessing even in kinda rough shape the Kioti is worth $6k-8k?

Yanmar YT347 or YT359. If you can't afford one of those, YM359. That is, if you have a Yanmar dealer nearby.

Compare weights. A heavier tractor is generally more of a work tractor.

I always look at the weight, but a bit differently.

I can haul a tractor around 6,000 to 8,000 lbs.

At this moment if I get it over 20,000 lbs, then it has to be hauled to me. And there is no just throwing it on a trailer and hauling it to another farm or to the shop.

So far I'm avoiding the tiny compact utility tractors. My old Ford 1715 has a niche, but I frequently find things that it is just a little too small to effectively do.

If i remember right, our OP is doing hay work, right. Weight can be good, but also bad. You want enough to work fields, replant, ect, but you dont want extra compaction either. You also dont want to rut up a field when fertilizing.

If you have a New Holland dealer around you the Workmaster 50-60-70 series may be an option. The New Holland Workmaster 60 has no DPF, so no regens. As it is below 75 HP so no DEF is required. It is in your price range, at least in Texas.

Thanks. I’ll check them out. Good looking tractor.

Yes, hay, skidding logs, and planting a couple food plots. I’ll also be using it to keep the road clean. Grading and what not.
The 40k is just for the tractor.
I have implements now. 7ft Sickle mower, 6ft bush hog, 2 bottom plow, 6ft box blade, boom pole, 7ft york rake, 6ft blade, auger.
Future purchases will be a square baler, rake/tedder, post driver, grapple. If I can find a cheap used haybine I’ll get one eventually.

With the Kioti, I planned to sell it privately. I have a couple of friends that have shown interest in buying it. Thanks for the suggestion on price. I had no idea that it could be worth that much lol. I was planning on getting $3500 for it.
