Buying Advice 1994 New Holland 1620

Hi Everyone,

Looking to purchase a new-to-us tractor for the first time. A local dealer has a 1994 New Holland 1620 with MFWD, hydro, turf tires, mid & rear PTO, 3-pt, 1 rear remotes, Koyker 155 Q.A. Loader + Bucket, 914A Mid Mount Mower. Sale price is just under $13k.

We are new to the tractor world, so wondering if this would fit the following needs and would love to hear any opinions on this model.
We have 5 acres that it would be used on right now. Most of the use would be for mowing/maintenance, hauling dirt/compost to our vegetable field, we'll likely do some gravel work on our driveway and then other various bucket hauling chores around the property. Eventually we'll expand into some additional land that is currently in row crop production - likely some tillage and additional maintenance there.

Any thoughts/opinions/recommendations would be great! Thank you!

welcome to the forum. i can't offer specific advice on sub/compacts, but your above statement i think may indicate unseen & growing needs in the future. one of the most common statements on this compact forum is "i wish i had bought bigger"

Seems a little expensive, but it all depends on hours and condition. Parrs availability is okay, but they are pricey. Good tractor and mower for sure.

Seems like a lot of money for a 30 year old 26 HP tractor but if it's in excellent condition, might be OK for your current needs. Seems a little small for much row crop use.
