A 48" walk behind Skag mower with a sulky is about $2800. The Skag is extremely well built and will last a lifetime for your use. I have this model and routinely cut about 4 acres in 1.5 hours. Most of this is 6" to 10" grass and the Skag does not slow down.
I have run over cement blocks hidden in the grass several times with no damage to the mower. This mower is built for heavy commercial use and a homeowner cannot wear it out.
