Tractor Flat Prevention Options

Since we were having lots of problems with flats on our RFM we had the 4 tires on it filled with the 2-part foam at a cost of 10 bucks per tire. We are happy with the results, no more flats, period.

Don't forget NOT to get the crummy rubber tire valve inserts, they rip off the hub way too easily. Get the steel valve inserts and preferably the steel welded on rim protectors for the valve.

Getting stuck in the mud or sand or having one ripped off by a branch is a major pain as I found out the other week when it happened to me out in the woods when a branch tore off the entire valve on the right front wheel resulting in an instant flat. Jacking up the front with the FEL was no problem, but if it had been one of the water filled rears I really would have been in trouble. The replacement steel insert only cost $10 installed.

How about going to the welding shop and have them replace those rubber tires with nice steel ones? Ones with big ole spikes would aerate the lawn and garden.

Hi there folks...this is one option I can recommend for repairing flats and small holes in your tires. I keep a kit in each of my vehicles and it's saved me lots of hassle and $$$ over the years. For tubeless tires. I am not sure the plugs will work on loaded tires, haven't tried yet. (I think they will, though). I also use the auto kit to do my ATV's, lawnmower, etc. If it's a larger puncture, I thread more than one plug on the tool to make a fatter plug. Haven't tried the heavy equipment plugs.
