Tractor Chain box and Under-seat Drawer

new projects:
Tractor Chain Box
- needed a place to put my chains for hoisting, etc on the tractor. Now that I have a cab, I couldn't do the 4" PVC-to-ROPS mount I did previously.


1/2" Steel tube


flattened expanded metal sheet


18GA sheet metal sides and "clip" to hang sugly off the tractor's loader frame

Underseat slide out "bin"
The Mahindra 26xx series is known to have a VERY low sitting seat. My 2655 had it too, and I raised it up 3" and moved it back 3" as well but putting some 3" square tube under the seat. I saw a space between them, and said.... "Hmmmm.. I could store some stuff here"


So I mounted some slides to the seat risers


made a steel box and painted! Looks nice


Looks nice, opens easily, from outside the tractor or while sitting. But since I since I used soft self-closing slides, it stays shut really well. Won't open by itself. I keep things like a crescent wrench, utility knife, screwdrivers, etc in this box.

I raised my seat with 4in c channel years ago and it is one of the better more I've done

Great fabricating skills, I really like the slides as used on well made tool boxes.
