Now that I see how both QAs work, I can see a couple of differences between the SSQA and the European style QA. They are quite different in the tolerances required to make them fit and the way that they wear.

The SSQA uses hardened bevels fits on both the top and bottom connections to the bucket. Those bevels - always under compression by the over-center levers and large compresion springs means the SSQA continually tries to tighten up the bucket connection to the loader as you use it.
Instead of wear amplifying critical clearances, wear on the SSQA type QA actually makes it fit better.

The European style QA uses simpler parts to fabricate and can be easily be made to be very strong, but requires exact assembly and doesn't self-compensate for wear. I wonder if they begin to rattle when they get older?

There are probably other QA systems as well - each with it's own set of advantages. I know that JD uses a proprietary system but I haven't looked into it.

Deere uses the Euro quick connect for their larger machines.
On the smaller machines, they use a proprietary one that is essentially Euro style top hooks with a 3/4" pin that a pin (like a 3 point lower link latch pin) goes through.

According to Euro standard its 20mm, not 3/4" (19.05mm)

I wanted to make central locking, but i'm pretty fine with two pins with circlips.

First time I seen stiffeners on inside of bucket, dont think I would've done that, now add on some bolt-on bucket teeth.

Stiffeners are pretty common on larger buckets. This one must be around 7-8 ft wide.

I got it, your bucket is 6'-10-11/16" wide, OD, almost 7', that a good size bucket now let me see it with bucketful of dirt at full height...........

Oldpath, I will take a picture as soon as possible. It lifts everything I tried, and I tested it with 1.5 tones.
Anyway, after a long while I'm back on the backhoe project. Pins and bushings and boom alignments

It's not Hypertherm, this is WTL Cut 100 CNC, cuts 45 mm thick steel, torch is the same as Hypertherm.

45mm steel.............:confused2: Glad I have this site in my saved section now I can understand you across the pond folks.... Convert mm, cm to fraction or decimal inches (in = mm = cm)
What you didn't think I'd look up the tools your using, I always do just to know whos doing what with what and how, its a form OCD........

Impressive 45mm=1-3/4 and its cheaper then the Hyper by more then half so theres still some left over for a new fridge so to avoid a frypan over the head.......
