tow behind top dressing leveller/spreader

Folks:
I would like to make up or get a spreader/leveller that I can pull behind my rider to spread top dressing and level the lawn.
Was thinking a couple of 4x4s with hardware cloth spread between them might work.
Or maybe chains instead of the hardware cloth?
Or how about making it out of angle iron?
How about brush heads to sweep it into the grass?
What do you think?

I had a similar need, smoothing the yard. Used a leftover A frame from a swing set, really did a good job of spreading and leveling. I used the bucket on my tractor to put out piles of top soil and then pulled the A frame. I used a chain to pull it as it made it easy to adjust the angle of the A frame.
