I have a Toro Groundmaster 580d with a temp switch issue. The switch is part number 93-3526. When the switch is connected the machine will only run for about 2 seconds. When disconnected the machine will run normal. Does anyone know exactly what this switch does? Does it measure temp or waterflow? Does anyone know the method for checking this sensor with a tester? This sensor is between $150 and $200 so I hate to replace it if its not the issue.

There is probably only one terminal and the frame of the switch is the other. Connect an ohmmeter between the connection points and see what you read. It should be open or infinite resistance. Leave your meter connected and put it into a container of water. Heat the water and see what it does. There is no way a simple sensor should cost $150 to $200. $25 would be pretty extreme.

I will do that. Yes, its a single wire. We had a new water neck installed (my warehouse guy accidently broke the original one). It looks like they installed the old sensors back into the new neck. The problem started shortly after the work was done.
