I got a bolt on for my bucket, and so far I love it. I was able to pick up stumps with it that I had to push with the bucket previously. Plus it adds just enough extra length on the bucket to let me stick barrels on it (with tilting).

I'll be giving it a hard workout on saturday and I'll see how it really performs then. I have already found that I have to keep by two 1 1/8th wreches with me. As others have posted, I can't drag with it on the bucket. Maybe it is just operator error on my part. I have attemtped mutliple ways of tiliting the bucket and lowering the fel to do it, but the bar seems to get in the way.

Have you tried backdragging with the heel of the bucket? Tooth bar up in the air bucket fully curled up? That's what I do. Sometimes I even have a small bucketful of dirt for added weight.

I do a lot of digging and material moving with my tractor, no brush removal though. I found I could do as efficient of a job without the toothbar as I could with it. The added hassle of:

putting it on,
taking it off,
being limited with my FEL functionality when it's installed (like back dragging or finishing/finnesse work)
the reduced lift capacity of the bucket
.....

made me decide to sell it... so I did

Haven't looked back since.

I decided to take my toothbar off to do some finish backdragging the other day. After watching a NASCAR pit crew on tv, I decided to do it their way and I had my wife time me. I may have cheated a little because I had the air wrench set up already and was off my tractor but I did it in 18 seconds. Hardly a lot of wasted time!

Did you wear a helmet and fireproof undies? Did you just throw the removed bolts on the ground then leap back onto the tractor? I hope your wife was videoing the event. This could become a TBN classic.

Yes, and maybe it is just me, but I didn't seem to be able to feather it out as well this way. It also tends to pack tighter into the lift arms (the open cavity on the loader arms) when I use the bucket curled. I was taught to use the bucket's mass to compress and spread. Maybe I am just using the wrong technique.
