Front-End Loader tooth bar

i'm gettin several acres of pines cut in the next few months as with any logging site i know there will be brush left scattered about im wanting to use my loader to push this into piles so i can get it back to open fields before the new growth starts i was wondering if a tooth bar on a ml 266 loader would help or would it not be worth the money looking for suggestions thanks.

I'm guessing your 3 ton tractor will be more useful for this type of work with a toothbar.. but for brush cleanup I recommend a grapple.

Tooth bars are a worthwhile addition, for digging. I have one on my Kubota & I leave it on, except in winter, but they really don't do much for brush. You can catch a little bit of loose stuff or cradle a log but that's about it.

There are any number of forks that people have built for moving bulky light stuff. I built a brush set-up with some bale spears.

Clear fields....How big are the trees? Is the logg'n outfit going to pull stumps too? Many times such an outfit can pile brush and pull stumps also, saving the wear and tear from your unguarded tractor from sticks in radiators and such plus ruined tires.... You may have more than just the residual brush left to deal with to make into a clear field. Unless you gunna have a stump ranch:laughing: Or mabe you are just going to seed it for a food plot, in wich just exposing some soil between stumps may be an option

A tooth bar is a "good" tool to pile limbs/brush with. Careful angling of the bucket should yield a decent raking action. The "teeth" of the tooth bar are kinda short for serious brush gathering/raking. Check the search option on the anbo brush grapple or markham I believe has a popular brush bucket/ grapple.

I used my rock bucket 'pic below' last spring, AFTER a dozer with a brush rake pushed a hedge of 80 year old vine maple and juneberry off for me. It worked rather good but was constantly having to watch for jill pokes "sticks" heading for hydraulic hoses and lines, radiator, engine compartment and tire sidewalls. Tractors are poooorly guarded against such threats.

yeah after looking at grapple prices and knowing it wont be used much after the 50 acres is cleared if the loggers wont remove the stumps i think it would be cheaper to rent a dozier and get everything in one swipe i would also really hate to bust up a new tractor trying to do something with it that its not made to do

Dozier rental sounds like a good idea. Like the one post said, you do not want to have to worry about breaking hydro hoses, etc.

Buy a cheap set of Pallet forks and sell them when you're done.....
