Been awhile since I've seen one with a METAL handle.......

Sometimes I start thinking about "you get what you pay for" tools. I have often used "just good enough to get by" tools or "homeowner" quality tools, but they sometimes (often?) disappoint me. But I know sometimes if you use quality tools, life is just easier and products last longer.

I completely agree. There are some things like spade bits that I will buy cheap (because I manage to break even the pricey ones). But for me there is nothing more frustrating than having a tools break in the middle of a project. Then you spend time trying to fix the tool or driving to get another one. Time that I intended to spend on the project!

Here's an amusing advert from 'way back'... and it fits in with the thread title!

From back when you could use humor and the world would enjoy it and not explode with outrage.

Hate to burst anyone's bubble, but that WD40 ad from the 60's was originated in 2014...

Back when people had a sense of humor. Instead of always looking for some reason to be offended.

This is ‘handy man’ bible stuff right there!

Might need to blow this up and post in my shop. With Alzheimer’s potentially in my future, I want to be prepared.

Just imagine if it used Kroil and a welder.

Anyone that rates wd-40 as the best is obviously wrong...

Who rated it the best? If you watched the video, WD-40 finished 5th. Kroil finished 7th.

I have seen that video in another thread. I am skeptical that the bolts were all uniformly rusted, even though each lube had more than one nut to remove. His method of rusting the bolts was also not real world. The video was well done I have to admit that.

Old time pull griper thingy. Spring loaded to clamp down.
