Bobcat tool cat 5600
I own a wild bird store in Massachusetts and bought a used Toolcat with highflown to move pallets of bird seed and plow snow. It has aprox 3800 hours on it and seems to run pretty good and does the Job. Other than rust the only issue I am having is the HST is very jerky. No mater where you set the throttle and or how easy you press on the pedle it creeps along very jerky. If you are moving at bout 2 miles per hour its fine but any slower trying to get a set of forks under a pallet is very difficult because it lunges forward. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

By the title I expected a recipe for dried meat snacks. :licking:

Someone will be along with more useful comments, I'm sure. And welcome to TBN!

Have you put it in work mode? If not give that a try, it remaps the throttle inputs and makes slow precise movements much, much easier.

Yes, I also find WORK mode works great for slow speed control.

I am REALLY going to have to reach back in time on this one... I have a 2007 "D" 5600. Years ago I encountered a speed variability ("jerkiness") problem that made my Toolcat pretty much unusable. Work mode dampened the problem but the rig was still pretty much unusable. To cut to the chase... I turned the Power Management off on my machine and the problem went away. Ultimately, the issue was a bad RPM sensor (the sensor is mounted near the flywheel of the Kubota motor, IIRC). So... look for erratic RPM readings as you drive along while avoiding whiplash. If the RPM is going all over the place, you might have found the problem. Alternatively you can turn your Power Management function off and see what happens. (Sorry, I don't remember how to switch it off.)

Does it do it in high speed also?

I'm thinking pump and or pedal calibration. :confused3:
