TLB machines

I am looking for a TLB unit. I will be using this for small excavation projects for my electrical contracting co, use for lifting pallets around my shop and snow removal in the winter. I will also use this for grounds clean up. I will trailor this with a 3/4 ton diesel P.U.
I have researched the Kubota L39. This looks like a nice machine but is priced at 34k plus 3500.00 for a trailor and we are getting up there. I was drawn to this machine because the backhoe is operated from the the same cab area. I do not like the idea of having to jump from one seat for the loader and another for the B.H.. Are there any other brands that offer the same set up for less $? Also a winter cab is not availible for this machine.

Try looking at a ford/NH industrial 5xx or 4xx series unit.. like a 545.

Good strong units.. people usually use them till there is no good left in them and get lotsa years of work from them.

I'm not sure of the arangement of controlls.. but generally you can get a used unit for a good price.
I think the backhoe is generally beefier than the regular 'add-on' backhoes you see for tractors.. especially 3pt hitch models

I can personally say the L39 is one tough machine (owned one prior to my L48), I logged over 1800 hrs on mine without a problem. The main reson i upgraded to the L48 was more power beyond flow. I run many Bobcat attachments on the quik-tatch front end and some were not performing up to par due to the lack of flow. This of course was not the machines fault, but my own by using attachments that required more than i could supply. All this being said I would contact your local dealers for a demo. IMOPO Price should not be your ultimate deciding factor, It should be what fits you the best.
