I'm new to this forum. Just purchase 15.5 acres and am looking for a good used FEL tractor.
I have come across a ISEKI TL2901 4x4 and I'm wondering if anyone can fill me in on this tractor. What I've found out so far is that it has 38HP, 4 cyl. diesel.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I do not know any thing about TL2901. The TL seares seem to be made in early 80s. The TL2901 will be newer than a TL2900. I think the engine is 29 HP. I have a TL3200 which is 32HP. I like my tractor. You need to be able to work on your on equipment becase it is hard to find someone to work on them. If you look into it you will find it is close to a white FB model of about the same Hp.

Good tractor. I just did a clucth job on one and they are well built. That tractor is 29hp PTO and about 32 to 33 for engine. How much is it? What condition is it in? Do you trust the seller? Is he a dealer or private individual?
If a dealer how long in business?

Thanks,
Maka

Thanks for the replies.
The tractor is for sale at TheTractorGuy in Arizona. He wants $7,000 which I think is too steep for a tractor that would be about 30 years old. From what I have seen so far it appears in not bad shape. I've asked for pictures of it so I can see more.
I read Maka's post earlier about looking for a clutch bearing. Sounds like you managed to get one OK.
The good thing is I don't need the tractor until into January and living in East Texas there isn't a lot snow to push around. I come from way up North and I won't miss that a bit.
I've also been looking and researching the Montana's and if I was to buy new I would consider them as a first choice.
My other concern with the Iseki is repair manuals and who's desiel engine they use. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot around on them.
Fixing my own equipment and vehicles is not a problem. I've been doing it since I was 12 years old. Not that I do it for a living though. I have a nice clean office job in Telecommunications Engineering.
One last thing I do like about this Iseki is that the bucket can lift up to 9 feet. A friend of mine with horses had a smaller Kubota and had to sell it because it wouldn't reach over a dump truck box side. So I made this one of my criteria for the loader. I want to setup shelves in the equipment shed for attachements then us pallet tines to store them on the shelves. Yes, they will be serious shelves for the weight. I also weld...
Thanks again for the responses.

Hello Stameder. Yes, I got the bearing with little problem and that tractor is off and running. I was a designer for ASICs at Qualcomm, what company are you with? Just curious.

Maka:

I have my own contracting/consulting company and currently subcontracting to T-Mobile.
My other passion is/was amateur radio particularly packet. If you were at Qualcomm you might have been a bit exposed to the software we used back in the day called NOS. The guy who originally wrote NOS went to Qualcomm.
Life sure has some funny twistes.
How did you ever go from ASIC design to ace tractor repairer?
This new place is going to be our retirement home.....I'm on the freedom 85 plan....that's when you get to retire at age 85.....That's why am so anxious about getting my first tractor on this place.
But that's outside this forum......
Cheers.

Hi Stampeder. I was raised on a ranch and equipment. I still have family with QC but the ASIC design business was much to hectic. Working on multiple projects, one tapeout after another, backbiting etc. just got to me.

I loved the work but the nature of the business just wears on you after a while. I was with QC when they were in their huge growth stage and left in
02.

We moved to No. Idaho where beauty and a slower life style was just what I wanted. I am not a great mechanic but my service department is and we service all makes of tractors. I can do a lot of stuff but I primarily focus on the customer service side of the business. I love what I did but am glad to be doing what I am doing now and would not go back no matter how much they wanted to pay me.

When did your friend go to QC. PM me with the name, maybe I know who he/she is. One reason we went with the Montana line is they are an LG product and I did lots of design work, RAMS, ROMS, Shifter and digital to analog stuff that ended up in LG stuff. They are very good engineers and I like their products. OH well, did not mean to hijack the thread but always nice to talk to someone farmiliar with my former profession.

Thanks,
Maka

Hi Larry. No problem. LG is So. Korean company that is very diverse. They have chemical, electronics, fiber optic, agricultural and on and on. You most likely recognize the name from cell phones, washers, dryers and refridgerators, flat screen TV, computer monitors and if youhave read much on Montana tractors, Farmtrac, some Tafe and a few others you may recognize the name as well.

Is this what you were looking for?

Thanks,
Maka
